MikeR 0
(posted this in another forum, got 0 replies)What's the average chipstack like at the 1st break? In a low limit rebuy tourney aka the all in orgie, how would your chip stack look if you did this? Sit out until about 3 minutes before 1st break. Now, you're looking to go all in with something to either double up, or get to 0, so you can have the original starting stack before blinds got you. If you do drop to 0, rebuy, post a blind so you'll be eligible for the 1st add on, and then at the break add the 2nd add on. Now that rebuys are no longer allowed, play as normal. So where would your chip stack be compared to the average?
Shred 0
I would think your stack size would be less than the average. I also would not sit out for the first session in an event that you could double up with a legitimate hand or at least gain some chips if you can get in cheap and pull something. DeNuts1 0
You would definetly be below average. From my experience in rebuys (especially the cheaper ones) you will have people that rebuy 10 times or more. So if you bust to 0 and rebuy twice (one rebuy/one add on) at the break you would be in trouble. That is why I hate rebuys. I don't like spending a large portion of my bankroll on rebuys. I have had good success in tournaments and do OK in the rebuy events but....it is hard to compete with someone who is willing to rebuy 10 times or more when my bankroll can't stand that (Daniel N. are u Listening?). jayistheman 0
every rebuy that ive ever done well in was due to accumulating massive amounts of chips in the early rounds. the all in orgies happen when you have the nuts too....once i had AA in the first round... i quadrupled up!!. i was in first place from then until the final table basically.people are giving away chips in these rounds... why not take them? MikeR 0
once i had AA in the first round... i quadrupled up!!.1st one I ever played I was happy to see AA as my starting hand. The guy before me had went all in so I called. Then I almost fell out of my chair when the entire table called. When the cards were flipped I was a little dismayed that the guy across from me also had AA, and 55 hit a 5 and had the huge chip lead. Yes I want AA. Not sure if I want 9 callers though.ANother one I played, the tables wasn't as maniacal, still people going all in preflop with questionable hands. This one I ended up cashing in without rebuying once. Later I started to think that I probably lost an opportunity to have more chips, since I didn't add the initial add on.If I play again (I really don't like them, but on a good note the prize pool is usually fattened up a lot) I'll probably play as normal, use the add on initially, and add on at the break. wrigleyN8 0
Your going to need at least 10k in chips at the break. You dont have to push in with anything pick your spots. Wait till you have a big pair or if 3 or more people move in befroe you call w a marginal hand.
