Hey guys...For you limit players such as Smash, my question is about the comparison between .50/1 and 1/2 on Party Poker.I'm wondering about the difference in competition, and especially if there are as many suckouts/bad beats at the level.I've been playing there for a few minutes to check it out, and have noticed a big difference as far as people chasing to the river, etc. Thanks for all the help!

I just made that jump myself. Although not as many people chase all the way to the river, you will still see just as many people in on the flop. Which is where you will crush them. If you hit your hand or even better, the nuts, you will still get a significant amount of people calling your check raise or whatever move you decide to do. On the really loose table I just go out and bet because you will get even more callers and possibly a raise if someone has a flush draw or 2 pair. It doesnt matter to them that the board is paired up and you flopped a full boat. I went straight from that to the 2 4 table and they dont seem to mind that I just sit there and wait for premium hands and they reraise me just the same. I made $150 in two hours on the 2 4 table today. They play almost as bad as on the .50 1 tables. I hope this helps.Ryan

It's a soft game. I see more aggression, but a lot of poor starting hands, etc.I sat with $50 tonight and left with $100 after an hour. And that was just playing one table.
A minute of perfection was worth the effort. A moment was the most you could ever expect from perfection.

On the subject, I was thinking of this last night...How do you all play the 6 max tables at Party.... 1/2 specifically.I find that I can either win a lot or lose a lot at these. I am not sure the best strategy, but it seems to just be extra aggressive, and play a little looser. But not too loose, because they other players all will. It's hard to find a middle ground with blinds coming so fast... and everyone tries to bluff in these rooms.... Way more than the full games. I find it kind of hard to fold, even if it seems that you're beat, because most of time you aren't.Anyone have thoughts or strategies on these rooms?[/img]

seriusly you might as well stay at .5/1 and get in like 25k of winning hands and just jump to 2/4. This is what I'm doing as I've just had enough of 1/2. The players are pretty bad at the full tables and to me the reward is not as great as the lows. When I have toyed with 2/4 the reward outweighs the problems as the play is basically the same as 1/2 and you can get twice the money. The six handed tables are insane as they play almost anything, so if you play tight you can make a lot more money at the sixhanded tables than the full tables.

I play 1/2 on party (DKE_XP120 if you ever see me) I find that its very profitable... I was playing tonight, dealt AK suited, 2 bet it, had 1 caller and took the blinds, got nothing, and bet every time, I probobly shouldnt have, but felt he was weak, and might fold (I had position) I was so sure he was going to fold on the river, and he called me down.... I ended up winning with Ace high... I guess in his mind, it was good to prove he could call my bluff, I turned me a nice $18 pot though. The people there are mostly fish, its great, i've taken a $72 pot before playing 1-2, I flopped a nut strait, and had it 4 bet Pre-flop, 4 bet post flop, 4 bet on the turn, and then checked to me on the river, and a few more called one bet.... with 4 people in the pot almost the whole way... No idea what they were holding, but I didnt complain... Just play smart, and it will pay huge.. You can even play pretty dumb and still turn a profit,Good luckDEKE

1-2 is pretty soft 6 handed is maniacal, you have to play loose and if a draw hits on the river you are probably beat.2-4 can be the same but you have to watch out sometimes 2-4 is loose and sometimes its super tight, I see a lot of good players switch up from 2-4 to 3-6, you want the ones going from 1-2 to 2-4.3-6 is very good a lot of soft money but some definate grinders in there waiting to chew you up, there is usually a lot of scared money in here which is good, but sometimes the 5-10 players drop down and the swings get crazy, 4 bets to the river with middle pair etc.
