Just wondering, any sort of reads on the two players? Because I've actually made quite a lot of money playing my A-A like that against players I know can't lay down any sort of low draw or big pocket pair.EDIT: Whoops, I didn't even notice the nut flush. I'm a donkey.

Yeah, im not frisky enough to play a naked AA that strong.

Even though that is a fairly standard hand, I don't think many people realize that you will not win the high side as often as they may think (the board has already paired), and the low side will be split many times as well, counterfeighted many times, and sometimes not even get there. I'm not saying to play it much different, I'm just pointing these things out to the people who may not see that (ie. I didn't even notice the nut flush). 8)

everyone seems to be thinking that the play is standard. although i haven't been playing long and don't really know what i'm talking about, i'm not sure that this is neccesarily the right play unless you know you opponents will call you with only a low draw.at this point the only draw you are really worried about is the 7x hand and the x catching or a pocket pair catching or another 10. (if our opponents are actually on a draw and not locked up)at the turn what draw are our oppenents really gonna call with? the 7x hand, with the low draw, is the only thing i can think of.i think one of our opponents has us slaughtered i.e. 7-10, 7-4, 10-10, 4-4. if one actually has this hand and the other has A-2-3 we put our money in when we were in a hell of a lot of trouble (we may get counterfeited on the low). i have a lot of respect for the posters on this forum and i'd be really interested to hear why the turn pot is the standard play.

Me too. I have no idea if this was the right play, just felt right at the time... I'm new to high low as well...

i came up with it in the shower.there is only 5 hi-hands that have us beat: 44,74,77,7-10,10-10.of those 44,74, and 77 would have re-raised the flop not wanting to give out a low.if they have 7-10 or 10-10 then we are just going to pay it out and hope our low gets there. but giving a free card to 7x or A23 would be tragic.i think this is right. any responses?

Given that you have AA22, there are only 4 cards that counterfeit the low, and all give you a full house (22277 might be good). Not knowing if I would get callers, I probably would have bet $12 on the turn. I have no argument with the pot bet either.
