Actually, I would throw Lundqvist into the mix over Phaneuf *and* Vanek, kid's just impressive. Honestly though, Ovechkin is carrying his team. He makes something out of nothing all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love the good Canadian boy, and I know that is not all he is. The guys are buying in, and he's got to get credit for a lot of the early success of the Rangers. Typical gesture, last night he starts Toronto kid Kevin Weekes against the Leafs. Weekes responded with a great game... now, if he can only keep Jagr and his Czech posse from imploding. Didn't bode well last night watching Straka stand on the Leaf blue line with the play still in the Rangers end, screaming for a pass.... *ahem* ...lundquist is 7-2 with a 1.88 gaa....if he can keep that up....and renney decides to keep him as the #1....he's gotta shot :clap: lets go rangers!!!! Crosby is a better talent than Ovechkin, and will be a much better player in the long run, but Ovechkin's past experience is giving him the edge right now.. Anthony was a really good player that season and helped his team get to the playoffs, but realistically, if Lebron was anywhere close in terms of stats, it was his award.Replace Lebron with Crosby and Anthony with Ovechkin and you've got your Calder Trophy argument.
