exdubliner 0
what are your opinions on this?I personally like to take a cheap multi way pot with them but on occasion I will come in for a raise given position is good, or I'm stealing the blinds of some weak players.Anyone condone raising with them? HurricaneKyle 0
It's absolutely a great play if you have the right conditions. If I'm in a weak tight game, I raise with a suited connector like 67 or higher at least once every two orbits if no one else has entered the pot. Its great when you then hit the flop, because all your really good hands get paid off later.
TJ_Eckleburg 0
It's highly situational. It would be MOST effective in a deepstack cash game (100-200 big blinds), in late position, in a multi-way limped pot, if you had a tighter than average table image. I would raise LESS than the pot to try and induce callers and make the flop multiway. It would be LEAST effective in a high-ante game (less than 100 big blinds), in early position, on a tight table, if you had a loose/aggressive table image. If you raise MORE than the pot, you're killing the best features of your hand.I'm trying to use parallel structure to show that the second isn't favorable. I'm also trying to show how no limit players need to use the advantage inherent to no limit (bet anything) to influence the betting and the pot, before they worry about anything else.I'm also trying to show that poker is SO situational that questions like these don't serve a purpose for teaching or learning, and can be easily misinterpreted by people who don't know what they're talking about. And obviously small suited connectors are going to be behing to most other hands. If the pot is multiway, I'm going to keep as many people in as possible, and keep it was cheap for myself as possible.I'd raise with suited connectors heads up and in a shorthanded weak-tight game that I was dominating.
