Today Eddie Guererro passed away at the age of 38 at a hotel in Minneapolis. He was found at 7 am cst by his nephew Chavo Jr and Dean Malenko. This is a very sad day for all wrestling fans, and very much so for me, as I have have been a big fan of eddie for a long time. I do want to note, that I will delete any wrestling is fake posts. So, don't waste yours and my times by even bothering posting them

i loved eddie. you have to respect a guy who's motto was "cheat to win". he was a great wrestler. his bit where he would put a chair into another guys hands and play dead to get the other person disqualified never got old to me

I don't follow wrestling much anymore, but Eddie was one of my favorites. Any match with him in it was worth watching, especially if Chavo, Kurt Angle or Chris Benoit were involved.Eddie has had drug and alcohol problems in the past and I believe it's from wrestling becoming to high risk manuevers that play to the crowd. There is a lot more injuries these days than 20 years ago. Back in 80's if a wrestler went to the top rope it was a big deal. Now it's nothing. You can't take a month off to recuperate or you will be replaced, so you take all sorts of pain meds and get addicted to them.I don't want to come of as some sort of moral authority, but the world has become a "microwave society". Meaning that everything has to be NOW!! Instead of a 1 hr. Ricky Steamboat v. Ric Flair classic we get 3 matches with guys going through tables, getting chair shots to the head and all kinds of unneccesary bumps to please the crowd.It just sucks and one of the reasons I don't watch much anymore.Erik

I read somewhere(I've been going to many different sites) that he was found with a toothbrush in his mouth. From what it sounds like, it was sudden heart failiure. He had been clean for the past couple of years, and was always a great person. WHen he was doing his indie tour after being fired from teh WWF in 2001-2002 I was able to see him in NYC. My friend met him at a show in south jersey in feb or 2002, and he said that eddie was just an amazing guy and a great guy to talk to. THey didn't go up to him, he went up to them, becuase he liked the Kanji shirt my friend was wearing. I can't begin to say how sad I am today, in some ways, this one hurts worse then owen's death in 99

Those are serious injuries that require surgery, not aches and pains that alot of wrestlers take pain killers for. I'm not trying to marginalize that kind of pain, but if you told Vinnie Mac that you needed a couple of weeks of to rest and nobody else was, you'd be off of TV.Stone Cold and Chris Benoit both said they may not have needed surgery if they had slowed down, but were afraid of losing thier headlining status.

Absolutely tragic.The match with Kennedy was great too, with the classic fake chair shot play. He would have been champ again within the next couple of months

Wow, i havn't been into Off-topic lately and when I do I come here to find this. I use to watch so much wrestling and Eddie Guerreo was always one of my favorites. I loved his frog splash and some of his fights vs Rey Mysterio Jr. were legendary. The guy was a pure entertainer and he will be missed. It sucks that you can be a healthy person(didn't know about any of his problems) and then suddenly die.

He was a great performer out there and really played it up well to the crowd, he had skills both inside and outside of the ring, which made him one of the more entertaining wrestlers around.Not sure if this is appropriate or not, but I do question whether whatever he died from was related to steroids or drugs of that nature. If you remember back to the WCW days, Eddie was really skinny, not huge and ripped like he was in the WWE. There've also been several deaths of wrestlers who have died of something similar, only explanation IMO is steroids or enhancements of some sorts.

Steroids??????? in the WWE????????? NO WAY!!!?!?!?!?!?!?Why didnt Congress subpoena Vince MacMahon? On a serious note, Eddie Guerrero was one of the most fun wrestlers. I was a fan of him mostly back in the WCW days. On another note, I wonder how wrestling has been able to consistently get away with stereo-typing people of certain nationalities (i.e. Classy British guy, Middle Easterner wears a turban, Mexican who likes cars with hydraulics).

Henry is fairly unique in that he signed a long-term contract with at least some guaranteed money when he was at the height of his Olympic popularity - apparently it runs out in 2007 or thereabouts. Most wrestlers don't have that kind of guarantee, they're signed for 1-2 years on a pay-for-performance basis.

What an awesome tribute to Eddie tonight on Raw. When you see emotion from guys who knew him, traveled the road with him you get a great idea of the kind of guy he was. Eddie was a special person.
