plain jane 7 stud

Recommended Posts

I lay a lot of stud8b and do quite well playing low hands scooping pots etc. but for the life of me have never been worth a rats ass at regular stud same with omaha, what are the major differences to win when only playing the high, i think I might just overvalue marginal hands, because there is no protection for half the pot. I don't know any hi only players that do consistently well here.

I stick to stud h/l as well. I love the people overplaying high cards and losing to my 2-6 straight. I think the thing with playing high hands is you have less cards to improve with unless you have multiple draws like straight+ flush. I've onlt tried regular stud a few times with not much success, anyway h/l is a much better money maker for me. $15.00 profit in 50 minutes last night playing .25/.50 :-)

I actually have the opposite problem. I started playing hold'em and have recently moved to stud also. I have done well at high so far, but struggle at high/low, although I have gotten somewhat addicted to both games now and am going to try and improve.Bourbenz,I am in Louisville also. I was wondering if you ever play at Caesar's, and if so what they're 7 card stud tables are like and if they offer stud high/low. On there website it says they have 2 - 10 stud. I'm guessing this is a split limit, but I wonder exactly what the ante and bring-in are at this limit. I haven't made a trip to the Casino yet, but am planning on it this summer, so I was wondering if you or anyone else had any experience there. Thanks.

I would say Stud Hi is my most profitable game. It was the first game I learned and I have played some pretty high stakes. I think we or I need to see some hands. Post some here if your interested or PM me with more specific questions because I would be glad to give you (or anyone) some pointers!
