You're playing no limit, let's say 2000 chip (arbitrary figure) buy in. Everyone starts with an even stack and there are 4 players. All 3 of them are weak, tight players but they've also shown that they're competent.Blinds are 1/2. You're dealt a/k off suit under the gun.You raise it to 5.One fold, and both the BB and SB call. The flop comes Ac/As/3h , rainbow. You check it.Small blind bets 3. Big blind raises it to 10. You call.Small blind calls.Turn is another 3d. no flush draws (pot is now 45)You check.Small blind bets 20.Big blind calls. You call.River is a 7d. (pot is now 105)You bet 50.Small blind raises it to 100. Big blind calls. You raise it again to 150.Small blind raises it to 200.Big blind goes all in for another 1500.After the all in, the pot is 455 and it's on you. The board is showing Ac,As,3h,3d, 7dWhat do you do?

I would call because its very hard to figur the have A7 or 33....and if this is a hand you made up.....its stupid because there is no "real" answer

Well, the only hand that beats you is 33, (and I guess the less likely A7) and like Doyle says, "if you were scared of a man making quads on you you'd never enter a pot." You may be putting all your chips in to a split pot, but you've got to do it.

You're playing against two tight, but competent players who have both been betting and calling large amounts since the flop. Any competent player would know to get out of that hand with large bets like that on the river with less than an ace. You have two tight players betting, raising and reraising heavy with that board showing as is. Could you really put 1500 more on the line for a 250 pot (because you are almost certain of a chop, in the best case scenario)?

This has happened to me in a similar situation, though at much lower stakes. I folded. He did have the quads. The other guy just had the ace. I showed them before i folded it, though, and everyone who didnt know what he had gave me similar responses to what ive had in this thread.

My suggestion? Play the hand more aggressively early or take your bad beat like a man when he makes quadsIce

play more aggressively on the flop! You have ace king in a 4 handed game...the last things you want is some ragged pocket 3's or Ace rag in YOUR pot....also, if your playing 2 tight players that know the game, they may realize there is a big chance the 2 remaining aces are buried, and their pocket pair, to make 2 pair is good, or their trip aces with no kicker is good, or even their king high is good! Make them pay, short handed the last thing you want are drawing hands on you
If I'm not myself today, then who am I, and who is me?

All you can really hope to do in that situation is to get the 3-3 out preflop. I mean, if you had 3-3, flop came A-A-3, you would think you were good, right? All you're losing to is A-A or A-3.My only thought is that if the board was AA337, and there were three players in all raising each other, then obviously they don't all have an A. Therefore, what could the third player, who was betting and raising all along, have? It's like if the board is Q7AQ3, and you have QK, and there is more than one other player who seems happy to get $$ in the middle, you have to figure you might just be beat... they can't both have a Q that's worse than yours (although one might be overzealously playing an A)
