Fphillips 0
I just read a disturbing tidbit of news. It seems the good people of San Fransico have voted to ban the sale of firearms in their city and have ordered all citizens to turn all hand guns over to police by April 1 2006. That excludes police and military. The NRA is of course defending the law abiding poeples right to keep and bare arms under the second amendment. I am sure that this will be overturned. You cannot take away a LAW abiding persons right to own a firearm PERIOD! This is garbage. I don't care if your a liberal or conservitive this is wrong. Thank God I'm in Alabama where this would never happen. By the way I just got my new Ruger SuperBlackHawk single action revolver chambered 44mag and I love it! Hell of a firearm. Criminals will always be able to get guns PERIOD. So the good people of the US lose rights that criminals ignore anyway.

Go back to school. The term Militia describes a civilian armed force available at the ready to defend life and property of the state. To defend the civil libertys of others. So clearly you should have studied a different subject. I say this with the upmost respect.

And we have groups that defend civil liberties (ACLU, for example)We have a well trained army which makes militias unnecessary right now. And, the 2nd amendment doesn't cover individual private citizens owning guns. They're not even owning guns for the security of the state! How is this covered by the 2nd amendment again?
