If you're going to raise preflop, you need to raise more. 3x bb is a good amount to raise if you are opening the action. In this hand, there are already 3 limpers. A good rule is to add a bb for each limper, so that means you should have raised to 180 preflop. (I would have limped with my AJo with 3 limpers most probably.)Raise his flop bet. I raise it to 450.Bet the turn. Checking does nothing for you here.Do not bet the river. Not many worse hands than you will call, but every hand that's better than you will call.

why did u check the turn? is this a serious post?
You respond as if there is only one possible way to play this hand. Loogie..thanks for the insight. I've posted before that I'm just learning to play NLHE and your comments are appreciated.

it's possible that his play may have been the best lineif our hero had our opponent on a worse ace, then by waiting to the river to bet, he will get more calls than betting the turn. our opponent might get suspicious of the turn check (and assume some kind of marginal hand) and call the river bet bc he smells a rat since he'd assume a bet from an ace on that turn. put yourself in the opponents shoes. you hold a-10. our hero raises pf and then just calls on the flop. then he proceeds to check the turn w/ 4 to the flush and straight draws possible. when he bets that turn, we fold since we're oop and we'd be committing our chips in an unfavorable position. if he checks the turn and bets the river, we'd call since op could be making this play w/ a pp or some worse holding since he checked the turn (plus this closes and we'd only have to be right only a small percentage of times to make this profitable)

Sure, theres going to be more ways to play the hand but I dont think checking the turn will be one of them.

lol, yeah with three spades on the board you need to reraise the flop. Not sure if you wanted to see if the turn was going to be a safe card or what but with three of a suit out there i think you need to go ahead and start betting asap. I think all other ways that people might choose to play this hand would be equivalent to masterbating with razorblades. Secondly you have to bet turn. At this point he could have all kinds of draws to beat top two. lastly i think when the fourth spade hits you need to just check it down, unless of course you are trying to bluff, but given the fact that you didn't bet the turn you have no idea what is going on and what he might possibly have other than the fact that he threw a bet out there on the river which could mean about a million different things none of which do we have any idea about given the fact that you not once took the lead in a hand which you have top pair a decent kicker and were the preflop aggressor.Sometimes i do something and somehow i get to the river with pretty much zero information and it makes me want to put my head in a vice. Don't let this happen, thin heads hurt.
