bdc30 0
***** Hand History for Game 3006508343 *****$400 Omaha Hi/Lo Game Table (PL) - Wed Nov 09 01:13:56 EST 2005Table Table 64749 (No DP) (Real Money) -- Seat 6 is the buttonTotal number of players : 9Seat 7: Hero ( $274)Seat 8: Villain ( $1166.46)Hero posts small blind (2)Villain posts big blind (4)** Preflop **Dealt to Hero 8 , A , 2 , 9 7 folds, Hero calls $2, Villain checks. ** Flop ** ( $ 8 ) : 6 , 4 , T Hero checks, Villain bets $8, Hero calls.** Turn ** ($24) : 7 Hero checks, Villain bets $24, Hero...Ok, we'll stop it here. The villain in this hand obviously has a nice sized stack. He has been putting a lot of money in a lot of pots, and hasn'thad to show down many hands.I'm sure that's the reason for all the folds preflop, as he hadbeen raising the size of the pot often, so anyone that justflat called was almost sure to see their $4 bet turn into a $20one by the time it got to this guy.On the flop, I was obviously not disappointed in that I pickedup the nut low draw, and a gutshot straight draw.I liked that there were no flush draws either, so I calledhis pot sized bet.The turn was my absolute gin card, the 7 completingboth my straight and my low, both the current nuts.Now...how do we get the most money off of this guy?I checked to him both on the flop and turn, and he potted itback to me both times. Is it time to stuff the pot now on the turn, or is a call the bestplay? If we just call, do we lead out on a safe river? What aboutif the river pairs the board?Hopefully we'll get this board hopping, and have somehands that get more than 3 replies...I'm gonna keep postinghands until we do!! lol
Vman96 0
I think you have to raise here...as much as you can that won't make him fold. Because you want the opponent to obviously call and you want the opportunity to jam as much of your stack in by the river that you'll think he'll call. Would this guy back down to resistance or stupid enough to pay you off? I would probably raise to at least $60 total here (maybe pot) and hope he calls. Then bet at least $100 on the river regardless of what shows. With ZERO chance for the flush....the odds of you getting quartered by a boat + nut low is tiny. I have only pulled off such a scoop or 3/4thing a few times in thousands of hands played. Now if you know FOR SURE that he would fire a 3rd shell on the river....then call and c/r on the river....but that's pretty risky in general. dank773 0
I might min-raise here, and see if he'll bite and come over the top. I think a call here puts you in a bad spot. It let's the villain now you have a hand, and if you come out firing on the river he may lay it down. And if you check the river hoping to CR, he may just check behind. I think some kind of raise is needed, and as the previous poster stated, it needs to be something he'll call.
JacKingOff_suit 0
Pot it back, many decent players would had thought that it took you 4 cards to win both hi and low, and they might thought that you've turned the low only and tried to buy the pot, it's 3/4ing or scooping time. Chamonyx 0
It's a real shame you don't have position here, as you would stand a much better chance of getting all-in by the end of the hand.As it is, let's look at the 3 choices:Call: This only makes sense if you are going to look to C/R on the river, and you need to be very confident that he will bet, otherwise you are looking at a $72 pot.Max Raise: With this board, he is only likely to stay in with A2 and/or one of the straights (please, please let him have the sucker one!). If he folds, you get $72, if he calls, you get all in when you bet on the river and so it is a $258 pot.Other Raise: Raising $55 lets you get all-in on the river, anything less leaves money on the table, but he may not call a big raise. Conclusion: Given your observations of his play, he is probably only going to call a raise if he has some form of hand. Therefore you must get him to pay the max, just in case your low gets counterfeited on the river.
Wintermute 0
Many river cards will ruin your action or get you quartered, so I would raise the pot on the turn and then lead the river for the full pot.
Rocketwadster 0
There are many cards out there that could stymie your hand right now, for at least half of the pot. Pot it back now, on the turn. If he re-pots, call gladly. If he folds, be secure in the knowledge that you won 100% of the pot. If he just calls, pot it again on the river to a safe card. If the board pairs, I would still lead out the majority of the time (at least I think I would...) 8)
navybuttons 16
there is so much more sound advice on the omaha hi/lo board then the hold 'em board. what's really funny is those jokers are continually arguin about a way to play a hand. because at least half don't know what they're talking about.here is a case where everyone is giving relatively the same advice. although a few have style variations to their play. because it is the right advice.
