i have a semi-crazy idea, is there any interest?

Recommended Posts

i will play one session (say... 50 hands, or 100 hands) at some site, some limit. maybe party .50/1, maybe party 2/4, maybe stars .25/.50, maybe pacific 2/4, whatever.during the whole session, i will reveal my cards to everyone here via an AOL/AIM chatroom or maybe a thread or some means, and y'all can either: a) sweat me and discuss any interesting hands after, or B) play together every hand.by that second option i mean that i won't actually do any action until we reach a consensus (most options should be obvious and trivial... fold 92o, raise AQ, raise TPTK on the flop, fold a gutshot with bad odds). obviously if time is running out and you poker nerds are arguing, i will default to my own wise-as-an-owl decision.mainly the purpose is to spot and fix the BIG leaks in anyone's game. i.e. if there are 15 people in this, 14 of them are saying i should fold this hand on the turn, and you're alone in saying "RAISE!!" or "i usually call this down," you're PROBABLY wrong, and you've PROBABLY found a BIG leak.any interest?aseem

could be interesting...problem with a group consensus is that everybody will have to pay pretty close attention to make sure they get thier vote in quick enough for the hand. and if they are like me they are easily gonna be distracted. I do like the concept of getting together with players and discussing hands though via aim type mediums as there can be much more free flowing discussion

I really really like this idea. However, do you think it's possible to do with 10/15 people? Those timers move fast. I wouldn't suggest a thread it would have to be done with some chat client where we are all in the same room.

AIM screen name...speedz99fcpYeah, if we have more than 4-5 of us we should probably rotate the discussions every orbit.

Aseem's bankroll is confiscated in 10 ... 9 ... 8 ... 7 ...
do u c y?(i don't...)aseem
Is Tim saying we are advertising collusion?I don't think the rules anywhere state that you can only have one player per account at a time. As long as only one of us sits at the table to play it's not illegal...maybe a little immoral.

hate to see Aseem accidentally typing his hand to the chat window on Party!also... Fuckin Guest..go away!or better yet, sign up!sorry, I'm getting the shakes, 90 minutes before I can go home.NO GUESTS ALLOWED in this deal tonight.imo, Aseem, you are setting yourself up if you ope the discussion to those we don't know/trust. PP usernames, etcAseem... I'm not likeing this for your concern.

What I would love to see happen is.....9 of us take over a table, everyone shows their cards at showdown, someone copies all hand histories to be evaluated here afterwards. That would be my ideal tutoring session. No discussion at table, so the site should not have any issues with collusion

a strategy table..We do those, and discuss while playing. But they really aren't useful for strategy. This idea is good. But maybe we shouldn't post all hands; but not sure how to chose them.Anyone with a particular question could post and those involved can explain.

I had played at the strat table once before....and enjoyed the conversation with Custom, Steve and others who were there, but there just was not much analysis of hands going on.....it is hard to do at the rate of playing....and I think it was 1/2 which was a little rich for my blood (especially for playing with people better than me ! )
