I picked up quite a few outs on the turn should i have bet to try to pick up more?

i don't think you can pick up more outs by betting, but if you think three people will call, you can bet for valueyour twelve outer comes in more often than 25% of the time

i think it woudl be close on whether i could bring 3 others to the river with me...I was fairly certain nobody had anything worthwhile so there was a small chance i can win the pot right then.

If you think there is any chance you'll fold everyone, you probably won't get the 3 callers you need. Unless the table is either super tight or super loose, I check this turn.

o the table was loose but i think its either im going to get a bunch of callers or no callers...

Don't bet the turn. Even if the probability that each of them will fold is 50%, the probability that they all fold is quite low (12.5%).
