I'm looking to sign up at an online poker site for the first time. What i'd like to know is, 1) what is the best bonus available currently (for ideally, the lowest relative buy in)2) what you guys think in terms of the competition at each site

A Full Tilt ad in the latest All In magazine (January/February) has a signup bonus of 100% up to $600 with the code "BONUS 11." It says the code is good for a limited time, but doesn't have an expiration date. I also don't know the details directly because I haven't tried it yet myself...not sure what else you have to do to qualify. A E

for the bodog bonus you must mention that you were referred by card player magazine. I called the toll free number when I set up my account and they said that the $100 bonus is good until November 2005.

I've been scoping out sites for the last week or so, trying to findthe place I want to play online, and the best bonus I've found,so far, is at a fairly new site, checknraisepoker.com.They're giving a 100% bonus up to $500 on your first deposit, and the terms on release seem to be pretty easy to fulfil. There were a couple other places with 100% bonuses, but theyonly went to $200, and I wasn't able to find the terms of releasefor them. I've lost my notes, but I THINK one of them was Poker Stars. There's another new site that's got a 100% bonus, too.Summitpoker or Mountainpoker. I'm not sure which.Again, lost my notes. I may have to start over. *sigh*Hope that helps.
Sanity is relative. If I go all-in pre-flop, it doesn't mean I'm in my right mind.

CNR is not necesarrily new. The owners are the same from dynamite poker. Its run on Java, so no downloads but I dont care for it. Not many people playing ever and if you ahve any type of bad connection you are in trouble.Best I had ever seen was when ThePlatinumPokerClub opened... 250% deposit bonus. Put in 200 got 500...didnt take too long to clear either.I have been thinking of giving Bodogs a look.

The bodog software is super fast and you cant beat the cardplayer.com bonus. I highly recommend bodog.com They have great customer service. I had connection problems during a sng and they refunded my buy in. There customer service center is based in canada, which means that the csr reps speak good english. I am very impressed with bodog.

i just signed up at pokermountian and it has a 100% bonus up to 500. you get 10 of your bonus dollars for every 100 raked hands of .50. so far this has been one of my favorite sites but it is still very new and more people need to sign up.

Poker Mountain has the best sign up bonus, and I'm not just saying that cause they pay me :D Seriously though, you get a 100% deposit bonus PLUS a free $25 seat in a Bellagio Quick Start event. While other sites also offer a 100% deposit bonus, no other site will give you the opportunity to claim it faster than www.pokermountain.com

Not to mention bragging rights when you get busted by DN or TJ
Suddenly I turned around
And she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists
And flowers in her hair.
She walked up to me so gracefully
And took my crown of thorns.
"Come in," she said,
"I'll give you shelter from the storm."

I saw the deposit bonus and am tempted, how does one go about clearing the deposit bonus? My only other fear is that there are only 100 on the site at a time, sounds like using it as a side table while playing elsewhere.Oh what are the best times to catch you playing there? I've stopped in a few times but havn't seen you at a table yet. I'd love to get in a low limit ring game (.50/1 or 1/2) and have a little chat. I know its pennies for you.

FT has a 100% up to $600 but it's one of the hardest bonuses to clear I know of. If you don't play at least .25/.50 NL holdem or higher forget it. At .25/.50 NL it is very hard to clear. If you must I'd say deposit $1,000 and play .5/1 nlI'm going to deposit $500 on Poker Mountain here in the next few days. Waiting for my neteller funds to be ready. (I dont pay the extra 8% to do the instacash thing -call me cheap). But yeah with a 100% up to 500 and that free sat entry you can't beat it. They are also having a series of point earned freerolls that will probably be really good since there are not that many people signed up yet. Just think a $2500 pool freeroll with only 100 people is worth $25 each.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but there is a question here that I've been looking for an answer to that hasn't been answered:How easy is it to clear the PokerMountain bonus so you can get your money? I'm considering depositing $500 on PokerMountain, but I don't know how difficult the bonus is to clear. Thanks.

It's fairly easy as you get back $10 for every 100 raked hands. If you play on the $1/$2 limit tables, most hands will get the minimum rake of 50 cents that count.I would say 3 hours for every $10 and if you multi-table, it'll go by faster.
