This is the first hand that I have posted here. It occured late in a $1.00+0.10 PS MTT. Started with 1094 and there were 35 left when it occured. This was my first MTT cash but when I played this I was looking to move into the top 5. Only the final table paid anything above $10. UTG+1 had been playing pretty agressively, showing early position raises with 10 8o, j8, etc. Just wanted some opinions on whether or not this was the right play.PokerStars Game #2919753568: Tournament #14116217, Hold'em No Limit - Level XIV (1500/3000) - 2005/10/29 - 02:43:13 (ET)Table '14116217 37' Seat #5 is the buttonSeat 1: burnside2 (39220 in chips) Seat 2: dan_poke_her (58018 in chips) Seat 3: Sandrella (98210 in chips) Seat 4: rebrom (57919 in chips) Seat 5: bullet75 (5259 in chips) is sitting outSeat 6: aspet (45711 in chips) Seat 7: stevielarson (36681 in chips) Seat 8: Pete965 (54392 in chips) Seat 9: Mourn (83977 in chips) burnside2: posts the ante 150dan_poke_her: posts the ante 150Sandrella: posts the ante 150rebrom: posts the ante 150bullet75: posts the ante 150aspet: posts the ante 150stevielarson: posts the ante 150Pete965: posts the ante 150Mourn: posts the ante 150aspet: posts small blind 1500stevielarson: posts big blind 3000*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to stevielarson [6c Ac]Pete965: folds Mourn: raises 6000 to 9000burnside2: folds dan_poke_her: folds Sandrella: folds rebrom: folds bullet75: folds aspet: folds stevielarson: calls 6000*** FLOP *** [5c Qc 8d]stevielarson: checks Mourn: bets 9000stevielarson: raises 18531 to 27531 and is all-inMourn: calls 18531*** TURN *** [5c Qc 8d] [Ks]*** RIVER *** [5c Qc 8d Ks] [5d]*** SHOW DOWN ***stevielarson: shows [6c Ac] (a pair of Fives)Mourn: shows [7d 7h] (two pair, Sevens and Fives)Mourn collected 75912 from pot*** SUMMARY ***Total pot 75912 | Rake 0 Board [5c Qc 8d Ks 5d]Seat 1: burnside2 folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 2: dan_poke_her folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 3: Sandrella folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 4: rebrom folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 5: bullet75 (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 6: aspet (small blind) folded before FlopSeat 7: stevielarson (big blind) showed [6c Ac] and lost with a pair of FivesSeat 8: Pete965 folded before Flop (didn't bet)Seat 9: Mourn showed [7d 7h] and won (75912) with two pair, Sevens and Fives

Fold preflop. No reason to get into a big confrontation with just A6s. Maybe a check raise on the flop would be better.
The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother's keeper and the finder
of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

Youve shown down hands that have been extremely weak for EP raises. It is probably time to switch gears. Titghten up a bit and youre going to get paid off on good hands. Unfortunately you cant tighten up too much because your stack is going to fade pretty quickly.A6 is an atrocious hand to call with against an EP raiser. You are almost certainly either behind to a pair higher than your 6 or dominated by an Ax with the x higher than your 6.On the flop all-in gave yourself the short end of the odds, and your gambling your tourney life on a draw. The only prayer you had was leading with the all in. With two overcards including paint on the board, 77 has got to be wary of an overpair. Unfortuantely your reputation at the table is going to get a lot of calls that you dont want.

Thanks for the advice. What I meant was that the EP player had been raising and then showing hands like 10 8 when it folded around, not me showing down those hands. He had been using the same 3X raise every time so there was nothing different about that.

I believe he did. I agree with folding pre-flop though.
