dEv~ 19
Thank god...down 4-0 in the first 10 minutes then they tie a franchise record with 6 power play goals, score the next 7 goals in the game and win 7-5For all you Mario haters...saying he should hand em up...2 G 3 A tonight giving him 11 points (5G 6A) in 10 games this season. Doesn't seem washed up to me.Well everyone knows the first one is the hardest to get. They better not wait another 9 games to get their second. Ya they are still in last place in the Atlantic Division but the OT points do help. They are only 1 point behind the NYI who have won 4 games already.

dEv~ 19
he's definetly not the player he was in the late 80's early 90's but nobody ever really was. He's not the fastest player but he makes up for it with smarts. He can't carry lines but if he plays with crosby that should open up alot of stuff for both of them.
Ottawa_Biatch 288
I have them tonight on proline. I have The Bruins (H+) over the Devils, Penguins (H) over the Hurricanes, and the Oilers (V) to upset the Preds. Bruins should beat the Devils. NJ played last night, Brodeur's injured. But so is Raycroft, but I think Murray and Thorton will be on their A game tonight. Carolina played in that huge scoring game last night, and the Pens had the night off and are just fresh off a win, hopefully they can continue the trend. This last one, I really can't explain it. I just have a feeling the Oilers will upset the Preds. Gut feeling.
dEv~ 19
played a great second period and they got up 3-1...totally threw it away in the 3rd getting outshot 19-4 and lost 5-3.

strategy 4
I could be wrong but I think the Pens were rebuilding in those days.rebuilding works GREAT when you get lucky off of your ass and get two once-in-a-decade type forwards in the draft lottery...

serge 904
ya it was pretty sick..And can you imagine they could of also had Toews(instead of Jordan Staal)and Eric Staal (instead of Fleury)Imagine a team of Crosby,Malkin,Toews and Eric StaalSome people say Penguins drafted well, but a monkey could of drafted just as good...I think they could of done better in hindsight. Not saying they made bad moves, but it could of been better.
strategy 4
the blues could have had toews as well. I was actually kind of pissed that they didn't take staal at the time. I think johnson was the best that year, though...
Zach6668 513
I think Toews could have been a better pick than Staal, in terms of BPA, but the Pens definitely didn't need another center. Staal is still a great pick, imho, and obviously can still develop and breakout, he still hasn't turned 20 for crying out loud. This is an incredibly meaningless stat given the circumstances, but Jordan Staal has more NHL points than Toews does, and Toews is older. Toews has a better PPG though, obviously.Meanwhile, I'll stand by Fleury over Eric Staal. Teams need franchise goalies, and we made that pick with the hope that he would turn into that, and as far as I can tell, so far so good. Obviously, he still has a long way to until he is considered the best in the league, but at 23, which is very young for goaltenders, he's shown very long flashes of brilliance, and played amazing en route to the Cup finals. If Fleury turns out to be a great goalie ok.But its still sick that this franchise had all these picks..Not fair really.
