two questions about table image

Recommended Posts

what skills are involved in table selection that would allow for an irrelevant table image? (online)
Until you move up to higher limits, table image is not a factor. Fish only care about their own hand. Trying to create a certain image will usually just hurt your results. However, it is important that you are aware of your image at all times. When you suspect you are up against an opponent with a brain, you have to realize he is probably adjusting his play based on how he percieves you.

Obviously.Aseem said in one of the other posts that he had excellent table selection skills, aiming for players who pay no attention to image. I'm wondering who this could be.Seperately I realized I wanted to see what people thought made for a good live image. It is loosely related, but I did not want to post twice.

Basically that means he finds tables with bad players.High table VPIP means you will make more money. Players play too loose, go too far with hands, etc. Not paying attention to your image is just a by-product of their bad play.

It really doesn't matter much to be honest. As long as you aren't playing like a super rock, your probably going to get action for your premium hands in typical low limit- middle limit games. The important thing is to use your table image accordingly, if you've been barely playing any hands, your raises are more respected, giving you more opportunities to steal. If you are playing lots of hands, your raises will not be as respected, so sometimes you should switch gears and play tighter and steal less.Myself personally, I just be myself at the table and play my game accordingly. I'll tend to mix up my play to keep everyone else off balance, whatever you do, just don't be known as a rock. Even the fish can distinguish the players who barely play any hands.
