I feel as though I donked this one up, but let me know. I don't like that play very much. I guess it's alright if you get it heads up with the all-in player and he has top set with no flush draw, but that's about the only positive outcome for you. And even that might not be so great, as considering the action, alot of your outs are going to be dead.

Pulling a monster check-raise like this is fine if the board is rainbow. It's hard to be a substantial dog with the nuclear wrap on a rainbow board. I'd have probably just called, but I'm a known nit.Nice to see you around these parts again. I hadn't read a post from you in a while.

Well, I haven't been playing as much Omaha and O8 in the past month. I was winning quite a bit there for a while, and then I stalled out and focused on NLHE and LCP. Feels like it's been forever since I won a substantial Omaha pot.And yeah, I was wondering if the rainbow board factored into the decision. I would've been a lot more comfortable in that scenario. As it turned out, one short stack had bottom two pair and a flush draw. The other short stack had the nut flush draw and a gut-shot. Unfortunately for me, Mr. Smooth-calling EP Big Stack had a monster (996x) and hit a queen on the turn. Guess I can't expect him to fold there...but man...I thought I represented QQ pretty well.

I would of just called to see a turn with that hand. If the board pairs or suits up you'll be drawing dead. The hand looks nice, but you can extract more money from suckers in $25 PLO than that.

I think having 996x makes the big stack's hand much weaker. It makes it far more likely that he's up against QQxx if he's getting action on his middle set. He also has one of his full house outs in his hand if the turn brings something unkind. I would much prefer Q99x to 996x in this situation.I would not have taken 996x as far as that guy did because, well, I would've read the situation as "there's no effing way someone doesn't have QQxx." Thank god there are people out there willing to take middle set so far... that matchup (top set vs middle set) has won me hundreds of dollars at tiny stakes PLO.
