Sysvr4 0
I dunno. I check behind on this river quite a bit. Is that weak?I like the turn raise for a free showdown. You still bet that river if it doesn't pair the board in such a way that you split with most other Kings?Jeff

You still bet that river if it doesn't pair the board in such a way that you split with most other Kings?JeffThe turn raise was for value.I considered checking behind the turn when the ten hit. I really have no idea how good/bad the river bet was. The maniacs could call with a wide range of hands. It's unlikely that he has a king, but a ten is probable. He may also have a 2, pp, or even a queen.

Turn raise is a value raise, nothing more, nothing less. You are still in teh full mode where if a flush card or a third straight cards hits that you're fucked. This is three handed, those likelys are much much less. Screech has top pair, that is massivly strong three handed. The whole hand is just fine and dandy

Mattnxtc 0
pretty standard...many bb will lead the flop with any pair or even ace high if they feel you are raising from position
Sysvr4 0
terribly weak. you miss a ton of value by doing that.Yeah, you're probably right. Of course, it helps that you see that screech wasn't c/r'ed in this hand on the river. Turn raise is a value raise, nothing more, nothing less. You are still in teh full mode where if a flush card or a third straight cards hits that you're fucked. This is a blatently unfair statement. I assume you're refering to hands I've posted recently where such a card hit in a multiway pot and I either folded or slowed down. As it turns out, I was right in almost every case, but hey, think what you will. This is three handed, those likelys are much much less. Screech has top pair, that is massivly strong three handed. The whole hand is just fine and dandyI only said I was unsure about the river bet, not that he played it poorly. I also suggested that he might use that turn raise for a free showdown in the case that he feared a c/r on the river. A deuce (unlikely), a T, and a smaller pocket pair is all I can put villain on here. Betting is probably the better option here tho, I agree. Jeff

In hosrt handed games, and especially very short games, hand values go up tremendously, and top pair hands are like virtual gold. of course, we can always reevaluate if we get CRed, but, I'm betting this river til the cows come home
