ok so im really getting fustrated i started poker about 1-2 months ago i started off losing about 400-500 then i won about 250~ slowly so i think to myself im starting to get the hang of this and winning slowly, some how i havent won in a LONG time i end up losing the 250 i won and about 200-300 more... im really stuck and need help ANY help is appreciated ive read some sites startegies but i dunno just not working for me. i play NL .25.5 blinds 25 maximum buy in help pls

What site are you playing at? What books have you read? What do you think your "Style" is (loose aggresive, tight passive etc)Do you have your flop percentages, percents you raise, call, re-raise etc...The more information you give, the more you will recieve back... first of all, it looks like you are playing at party.... notorious for swings in NL... ( i can tell because the blinds are too damn big for the max buy in)anyway... i dont play NL there for that very reason... i feel as though i am commiting myself with pre flop raises... i also lost a decent chunk of my party deposit when i was playing above my bankroll there... since they didnt have lower buy in tables, i was trying to run a small deposit up... got nailed by a 2 outer when an underpair called my all in on the turn. i, personally like the comfort of playing with lower blinds relative to stack size... if i want to open for 4x with AK, its 2 dollars out of my 25 dollar stack.. if i take a good stab on the flop and get raised, im down to about 18 bucks.in a 25 dollar room on other sites, that loss is cut in half, yet you can still double up and make 25 bucks profit.... more reward for less risk in an odd kinda way. if you are gonna play at party, or another site like it, id recommend playing limit, as the games are juicy as hell... and you can control swings a lil better.this might not have helped at all... but i tried. that and im pretty sure that 300 posts makes me a "veteran" not a "groupie" (which sounds pretty gay IMO)

hello guys im back im sorry i did not have any time to reply yesterday, i havent read any books ive read sites tho, i think it is just as good but if u guys highly reccomend books then ok. my flop percentage is around 18-22% i play at party im pretty tight not agressive at all actually unless i know i have the best hand

So far from the 2 hands in there where it was marginal to play or not it looks like you did the right thing... when you're in the hand You should riase and not call very much... Its the best way to go.

I have to agree with Jayson. You are not raising frequently enough...well, not at all. Poker, especailly no-limit poker, is a game that rewards aggression. However, that doesn't mean you can get carried away with the concept. When opening a pot with a raise, 3x-5x the BB is often times a descent size raise to make. Post-flop, I would suggest bet sizes rangeing from 1/4 pot to pot sized raises and in certain situation overbets of the pot. All bets are completely dependent on your analysis of current situations and receiving maximum return while protecting your hand. I know this board will be a great help, however, I would definately suggest reading a few books to get your feet wet on some of the basic concepts and strategy. I would suggest Middle Limit Hold'em by Bob Ciaffone, this book centers around Middle limit hold'em, however, it will teach you the fundamentals of hold'em, and as you learn you can apply some of them to your No-Limit play. hope this helps.
