Boogie711 0
Hey everyone... I'm relatively new to 6max and I'm just curious what people think a good VPIP for 6max NL ring games would be.On full ring, I try to keep it under 20% and play a nice tight aggressive game. On 6 max, one has to figure that your range of starting hands increases? I tried to do a search, but couldn't find any good information. Any thoughts?
DCWildcat 0
mid 20's is good. a wider range than normal is acceptable here.note that if you're a beginner, you'll want it on the smallish side of that (22ish) because you won't be good enough postflop to make up for some loose PF action. good players can push the upper 20's. akishore 0
mine is low to mid 30's, but that's really tained because i play a ton of three-handed and four-handed (ultra-shorthanded).at a full six max (oxymoron?) table, i survive about mid to upper 20's. on really weak/tight tables it jumps to low 30's.aseem
Boogie711 0
Thanks guys... still consider myself a beginner and will for some time.In 16,000 hands of full ring I've got 21% VPIP, but in the last 8,000 hands or so it's closer to 17%. Only got 2,700 hands of 6max but was simply breaking even... imported my stats and WHOA - 34%! I figured that was WAY too high. It appears my suspicions were correct!Any thoughts on hand selection? I know suited connectors lose a lot of value. Anything else I should be wary of?
DCWildcat 0
34 isn't all that bad, but you probably want to tone it down a little until you become an expert 8)
econ_tim 0
fyi, after 5,000 hands my VP$IP is 24.7 and my PFR is 16.63. This has some ultra-short handed mixed in, but mostly it is between 4 and 6 handed.
