Hitting up my first game of the season tomorrow night, the Sabres are hosting the Capitals here in Rochester. Bringing my flask along, should be a good time. Look for the guy trying to jump the boards and get into the game around the middle of the second period
LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!

I never knew that Buffalo played some of their games in Rochester. Smart move, i think, to expand their fan base. I go up to Newark, NY a couple of times a year. Someday I am going to have to coordinate the trip with a hockey game. Have they ever played the Rangers there?

I don't believe they've ever played the Rangers in Rochester. They only started playing games here (and it's only 1-2 per season) after Tom Golisano bought the team, because he has a strong Rochester connection. He correctly realized that bringing the team home with him would drum up a larger fanbase, and he's been rewarded with better ticket sales for home games in Buffalo (the Rochester Amerks play a couple of home games in Buffalo as well). Last season they played the Devils in Rochester, this season it's the Capitals (homecoming for Olaf Kolzig, who played for the Amerks in 93-94).
