I am realtivley new to poker and Hold Em in particular and I have a pot odds question I hope sombody will answer. To make it as simple as possible, lets say your dealing cards face up against one opponent. You also know that he plays strictly by the odds, so he'll always call if he's getting the right pot odds and fold if he doesent. Now lets say you flop something like a pair and he has a flush draw (the specific number of outs is not really that important). So your first to act, my question is what should you bet to maximize your winnings in the long run? If you bet more than what the odds say he should call, you'll win 100% of the time, but maybe there is a way to winner a bigger pot less often that will be more profitable?

Actually, the specific number of outs is critical - it's what you use to evaluate your odds and expected value - so I don't think you have a good enough handle on odds to really get into your question. There's any number of good poker books that can help you out, check the books forum for recommendations.
