Oblivious 0
I love hearing about the big game, but Im not sure about DN's analysis of his rate over the past few days. What's the purpose of being pleased with being up 14k after 25 hours? At this level, being +14k is simply breaking even. I know its fun for all of us railbirds to fantisize about what it'd be like to make 14k after three days of work, but this sum says nothing about how DN is playing. If being up less than 2 big bets is something to be pleased about, what about being down 400k? Is that something to get upset over? The poker content is great, but the results info presented as if it has any relevance at all makes me cringe.
murok 0
Personally I agree with you and I am sure DN is not saying that he is tearing it up. He states that he is basically even, but for him to be breaking even in the big game, being away from the game for quite some time frankly is not a bad first two days. It sounds to me he is trying to build his confidence up again and mental prowess. DN hasn't done anything really in the way of poker for almost half a year now, other than a few heads up matches, which have seemed to dissapear also... I wouldn't read much into his first two days, but it is a start for him hopefully getting back to work.
DanielNegreanu 141
Honestly, no offense but I think you are being slightly anal. I don't put any real value or importance on those results at all. I only was trying to get across that it could have been a bad week in that I was stuck most of the way. All I was referring to was the most recent results and how they, "could have been worse." I understand as well as anybody that short term results bare little meaning. In fact, I wrote a column about it called, "Play Hours Not Results."
Billy 0
"Play Hours Not Results" is a great article. I tried replicating what you do and say in that article and it is working well. So thank you.

In fact, I wrote a column about it called, "Play Hours Not Results."Daniel,I think many people around here would like to know who's challenged you lately to 500k heads-up and when you think you may be ready mentally to finally accept the next challenge. It seems like you may be turning these down due to your slump. If I am wrong, please correct me for the record and let everyone here know what's up?
Oblivious 0
"Hours, Not Results" is the main reason it's difficult for me to accept this short-term accounting as legit subject matter. I really (really, really) liked that artical. You have to admit that youre indulging (at least a little bit) in your short term results here. It's tough for me to see one of my major influences going back on his lesson a bit. Then again, everyone does it sometimes... okay I'll stop being anal.
Sims4Short 0
Calling them anal is being too kind. First off he hasn't been playing as much poker lately. Then Daniel goes and sits down at the Big Game with the likes of Greenstein, Ivey, and Reese who are already great and sharp due to the fact they play daily at extended hours. I'm thinking if I'm just getting back into the swing of things and I show a small profit from the Big Game over 25 hours I'm doing alright. You act like he should be making 250k a night. Hell even Ivey has 250k losing nights. You can't win every night.
DanielNegreanu 141
I see what you are saying now I think. Sure, the results had to have some effect on me a little bit because I'm just getting back into the swing of things. Just getting my feet wet really. For the confidence level, started out losing a big number can be damaging. Once I'm fully back into playing regularly, the results will cease to have an impact. But as I said, since I'm just starting out again I did feel better about the fact that I wasn't stuck a million right off the bat!
DanielNegreanu 141
I haven't refused ANYONE in the Matches. I had several people "talk" about playing me, but nobody stepped up to the plate and they have my phone number!

I had several people "talk" about playing me, but nobody stepped up to the plate and they have my phone number!I could have sworn you said that prior to your last challenge match with John Doe, that you had other challengers waiting in line. What happened to those and what happened to your challege matchs with Barry G? I though the two of you still had to finish your challenge matches. Hmmm..

GaryMorris 0
They were lined up and I was ready to go. Â They didn't show...Perhaps they need a little reminder about those challenge matches, unless you feel like it's in your best interest to wait until you feel like you're back in the groove. Out of all the past challengers you have not played yet, who would you like to face off heads-up next with?

That would be interesting. My vote for Daniel to play is Ted Forrest.

Perhaps he's going through a slump himself and is trying to stay out of the limelight for a while. I wonder if he's just a holdem' specialist or can mix it up and play all the other games as well. That would be great if he ever comes around and challenged you again. Perhaps he's just all talk!
scottyno 0
neverwin clearly isnt just a holdem specialist, he plays 300-600 triple draw on ub as wellfor anyone that doesn't know hes primarily an online player, but had a great wsop with 2 final tables and a deep run in the main eventthis match has to happen!
