the only thing i dont understand is the min-raisei've never understood it, and i doubt i ever will. if you're hoping that he has an ace and want to extract more why not raise more. if you're trying to charge him for a draw, why not raise more as well, i doubt he'd release a flush draw when he already has money invested on the flop? if you're trying to get him to stick around and extract more money, why not just call the flop and pop the turn when he bets again. why min-raise?

Point Taken.I don't really know what I was thinking, I was hoping I'd give him a chance to catch one of his overs with Ace - King, or Ace - Queen. Also I figure any over pair and he'll push all in, and make it an easy grab for his whole stack.But it almost cost me the pot I suppose, I'll try a different trick next time. Anyone else have any opinions.Thanks Davin.

I agree with Davin. You can either.....Call the flop and let him get a free card (although you should be weary since there is a flush draw out there). He will most likely make another bet on the turn if you only call his flop bet and can make a significant raise on the turn.OR Make a worthwhile raise once he bets the flop (up to $7 maybe) to get rid of any diamond draws or it will get a high PP to push. By only min raising the turn you show enough strength that he won't lead the turn most likely and still had the odds to call it if he is on a draw.

I would probably only raise this flop to make the draws payand that pathetic excuse of a raise, was not going to do that, ANY drawing hand is getting a good priceraise it to $6-$8 on flop
