multi table tournaments online

Recommended Posts

I have done well in the past but I have run into some issues. I know that I have a leak or two in that I tend to be too tight (or) too aggressive earlier in tournaments.Any suggestions on early play? middle play? and then final 30 play? I can handle the final table play.Right now my theory is loose and conservative betting(due to fools calling with anything early) early to build chips. Especially when you are allowed to limp so much with rags. Then, in the middle play I turn to tighter and more aggressive because the players are better and I can steal pots easier. Then, in the final 30 I turn up the loose and the aggressive in order to push toward the final table. Then, of course the final table depends on the chip count, etc. Please advise. Am I on a bad run or am I doing something wrong?I haven't made a final table in a couple weeks.I appreciate the help.

If you need a genereal rule for each of the stages there is a problem. You need to change your play depending on who you play. In the first 20 hands of a tournament All I will play in Aces' date=' Kings, Ace King or Queens. Pay attention even when you aren't in the hand and pick up on different players styles and pray for as many showdowns as possible. Middle play is a good time to play position poker, try to play suited connectors in the last three spots for as cheap as possible. Also play small pairs for an elevated price in late position, that way you can easily pick up pots. In middle position I will play 10, J's Q's,K's A's and any royal connectors. I will play suited Ace Blank except for 7 or 6.[qoute']Right now my theory is loose and conservative betting(due to fools calling with anything early) early to build chips. Tight early is good because the blinds are small enough to fold them. DOn't get involved in big pots with marginal hands. My rule of thumb is not to have a rule of thumb. Try and get the style of plays down of the people at your table by sitting out about 15 hands unless you have some of the cards I mentioned earlier, and fold if you don't hit cards and aare bet into at a new table. Get style of play down, then adjust your style to fit that, if the player is loose, you play tight, if the players are tight, you play loose.

I appreciate the reply.I do change my play according to the player, the way the table is playing, etc. But, I do try to stick a game plan if possible.I feel it is better to have a game plan to refer back to when put to tough decisions. Otherwise, I will do something foolish and risky when I do not need to.

Exactly why I don't like that, in a tough descision you nee to recall everything you have leading you to that choice, Player style, Read, etc...Playing a syle on purpose is just risky in and of itself.
