Calling the turn and going for a river check/raise is in general a bad idea. First, there was flush and possible straight draw out there. Eventhough, MP1 folded on the turn, you didnt know that at the time. If he has a flush or stright draw he will likely call 2 cold on the turn. If you dont raise, he will call the one bet and fold on the river when he misses (less money for you). Second, you dont know what the raiser has. If hes weak with overcards or just a pocket pair, you run the risk that he will check behind you looking for a cheap showdown (less money for you). If you raise the turn he will likely call the raise and might call the river just to see what you have.

My thinking ( I think that it was wrong now) was that they bet into me on the flop and again on the turn with a scare card that they would fold to a reraise and it wouldn't go to river. I figured that I would get more money if the river was bet by them then if I c/r. I was trying to get the most out of this hand but think that I took the wrong line. Trying to let them bet themselves out of more money.
