Ok, I am officially a sicko when it comes to fantasy hockey. In fact, years ago I created a fan site for the Cheap Thieves. Of course, the team has precisely one fan- me! I used to spend hours a day on it and just recently started fiddling with it. If you are seriously bored, checkout www.leaguelineup.com/ahl

Fantasy hockey is a form of fantasy sport where fantasy owners build a team that competes against other fantasy owners based on the statistics generated by professional hockey players or teams. The majority of all fantasy hockey pools are based on the teams and players of the National Hockey League (NHL). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy_hockey

So basically you pick your team members then what?fantasy matches too or you use the real stats from real games and stuff to determine who wins?
I dream a dream of kings and aces.

Hey Danny, Do you play in this hockey league for the love of the game? Or does everyone put a set amount of money in and you play for that? If it's for money, how much is it for? How many people are on the waiting list to get into this league as well? Keeper leagues are excellent, but from what I've encountered, some people just leave the league when they aren't doing well, or won't be doing well in the future because they traded away their prospects and draft picks (HOLY CRAP, that sounds like what the rangers did!). Anyways, good luck with your team, and if you ever have an expansion draft...deal me in! lol...

We have 16 teams in our league, and I would say that 12 of the owners have been in our league for over 10 years. There is a long waiting list to get in. The entry was $60 and you have to pay for trasactions. A full list of the rules is available at www.alternativehockeyleague.com.

You need an FCP hockey skills competition. Although I think there were some minor league players who check out the site (who obviously would be disqualified), I think I'd stand a chance to win something cool (assuming I donk off my Survivor pick next week and lose in that). FCPers in a shootout, or hardest shot competition aiming at a Neverwin poster, it would be fun.

For each 'game' between fantasy club members you basically add up the points* for each player on your roster and compare to the opposition to determine the winner.*each pool is slightly different in what it counts as points.

That'd be awesome.

If you want to compete, pay for your own way out to Vegas for a weekend, then the winner gets to go with the Survivor winner and DN to the Stanley Cup?

It would probably be cheaper for some just to buy tickets to the hockey game.

Possibly, I don't know how easy it is to get tickets to the Stanley Cup, I assumed it would be relatively expensive, plus less fun.
