Strange timing. He has been whining about obstruction longer than anyone west of Lemieux, so I would have thought he would want to try out the new NHL. If you can't go you can't go though.

he has one assist so far this year. he's a pretty proud guy. maybe he just can't keep up, doesn't think he can produce, and wants to pack it in before embarrassing himself for a whole year.i'm sure that year off didn't help his fitness or footspeed, either.
