I have 149.00 left in front of me.Hero...Discussion:UTG was a very loose aggressive player, he had built up a big stack by playing wildly and overbetting a lot of hands, plus a few suckouts. he was losing his stack just as quickly as he got it. To this point I had a very tight table image, only showing down some really solid hands. Him and I had only tangled in one pot earlier where I flopped a straight and let him bet into me till the river. He often called my preflop raises, but never came back over the top (though it was minimal here). The two times I had seen him catch aces, he made HUGE raises preflop so I just couldn't put him on aces this hand. To be honest, I was having trouble putting him on a hand, but my best guess was JJ-88, and was hoping it wasn't 77 or 33. I was about 85% sure I had the best hand the whole way, but I played it really passivly.Is there any point during this hand post flop where I should reraise him, or with this type of agressive player is it better to just let him do the betting for me?

You have position, let him hang himself. With this board, pf action, and opponent, you're not getting away from this hand if he has you beat.

i don't understand why you didn't reraise preflop if you thought he didn't have aces.not just to get more money in and to shut implied odds, but to isolate him. you don't want the button in there.honestly, i think you got really lucky that the flop came 722 and the button just folded to one bet. if the flop came 986 or QQJ or something, you would have a real tough time playing comfortably with the button to act behind you.since you didn't reraise preflop, i think you should have raised the flop. an ace didn't come, you said he most likely doesn't have aces, so you are usually way ahead here. maybe you called because you wanted to be careful with the button to act behind you. more reason to reraise preflop.when the button folds, i would raise the turn. maybe push, maybe not, i don't remember the numbers. if he doesn't have aces, you are usually way ahead. don't give him a chance to catch an ace on the river if he has AK or something. this might not be 100% correct under some situations, and this seems to be borderline one of those situations where calling is correct even if he has AK or another Ax--mainly if he will push the river even if he misses.given the way you played this, why wouldn't you call the river??aseem

I called the RiverI was actually more worried about the button on the flop than UTG, thats why I called the flop since I wasn't acting last. When he folds I am way more comfortable heads up with UTG.When he came out betting 1/2 the pot on the turn, I was trying to put him on a hand and actually Ax wasn't a hand I was considering, I was thinking JJ-88. So I thought about reraising the turn but opted against it since I was thinking it was better to just let him hang himself. The more I think about it, the more I feel like this is a mistake I need to fix. If I am that confident in my read, why not raise?I guess I am trying to figure out if it was better to let him bet into me with what I felt was a better hand, or if I should reraise him and possibly scare off money I could win.

Given your read... I think I like pumping this fucker to about 50 preflop.Skip the foreplay with KK and AA... especially if someone weird likes to diddle with you preflop.
