Trying to improve... I know I still have a few leaks..I'll post this hand in a few stages because if I post the whole thing it's too obvious... What's your line on the flop?Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: thecamelot is CO with Q:heart:, Q:spade:. MP3 posts a blind of $1. 5 folds, Button calls, BB calls.Flop: (13.50 SB) 8:spade:, 4:heart:, 5:diamond: (3 players)BB checks, thecamelot bets, BB calls, thecamelot ... ?

three-bet this junk without a read.but, fold to a cap. you're only getting 24-to-1. you usually need about 80%-to-1 if you want to chase a set after.aseem

no one worried about the BB coming along for the ride? i wasn't, just curious...anyways, i made the mistake of not 3-betting this... so, what's the turn line given my play? also what's a turn line if i 3-bet and the button just calls?Flop: (13.50 SB) 8:spade:, 4:heart:, 5:diamond: (3 players)BB checks, thecamelot bets, BB calls, thecamelot calls.Turn: (9.75 BB) 5:club: (3 players)BB checks, thecamelot ...?this turn doesn't scare me, it's very unlikely button has a 5, unless is totally crazy... i'm still a little afraid of AA-KK at this point, but the buttons hand becomes clearer after my turn mistake

really?I play the 2/4 on partypoker and usually when I've gone against ppl who capped it's AA or KKalthough I did have an interesting hand at a b&m at 3/6, i'll never know what they had. (sorry to intrude on poster's space)pocket aces - 5 including me caps preflopflop - 5 8 10 - bets cappedturn - 3 - 2 bets, everyone's in river - 6 - I'm so nervous i check, everyone checksI show pocket aces and win over 150 dollars, everyone else mucks...Course you worry about the BB but the one who shoots out betting is whom you watch out first :club:

At 1/2 I don't fold to the pf cap here. I can see the button capping at this spread with a lot - 1010, JJ, AK, AQs... I've even seen garbage like KQs 88, 99 capped. I'd say it's 50%+ we're ahead on this flop. I'd have also raised it, then called the re-raise, looking to c/c down the rest of the way. BB looks like dead money.

Aseem was talking about folding to a cap on the flop if he 3-bets, but I think he was being sarcastic. I definately 3-bet this flop and call down a cap. On the flop I see a lot of overpairs, no matter what their rank, shoving their money in there. I'm definately calling down the cap if it happens on the flop.PF is an easy cap here. You opened from the CO against a poster, and button 3-bet you. He's gonna 3-bet you with a lot of crap here, so cap it.

Preflop cap is fine.3-bet the flop and don't fold to a cap. The funny thing about this limit is that people overplay mediocre hands and chase draws and TPTK while calling 2, 3, or even 4 bets cold. That said, gaybet this turn. You're doing this hoping that the button raises, to make the BB call 2 more cold. If he does raise, just call the raise and check/call the river UI.

His hand range hasn't really changed much in my opinion, except that maybe we can add a little more weight to the AK/AQ combos.
Hmmm... I thought I could narrow the hand range down to AK/AQ pretty reliably after the free card on the turn, but I guess it could still be a lower PP. That said, my mistakes aren't excuseable.Anyways, still call on the river?

KK-99, or AK/AQ.His hand range hasn't really changed much in my opinion, except that maybe we can add a little more weight to the AK/AQ combos.
I agree ... I don't put any more weight on the AK / AQ combos either. With a pocket pair, and you checking the turn and the river, he might think he is still best. IMO he is just as likely to be trying to represent an A here, as he is to actually have it. Had you have bet the turn, and just got a call, then I would put more weight to the AK or AQ.

did no one catch my reference to "80%-to-1"??
Aseem,If the odds were 80%:1, we'd be a favorite in the hand, so why are you recommending fold??That kinda threw me off I guess. Also, I used to play sets as if they were drawing hands. I can't remember the exact odds because I don't have my chart handy, but I think they were a bit less than 0.8:1. :?
