ddudley 0
I'm playing poker last night and I have the TV on ESPN for background noise. At 2:30am I look up and there's a show called LoudMouth Bass on. It's a show discussing professional fishing... what? You gotta be kidding me. We can't even get a 2nd showing of Poker Corner and Pro Fishermen have a regularly scheduled analysis show? Good greif!!!!!!
Guest
isn't poker corner a portion of the travel channel's world poker tour? if so, why would you think they would show that on ESPN? if not, what is this poker corner you speak of?

I know they are on two seperate networks. It the principle of the thing, bass fishing has a regular analysis show and poker does not. It has nothing to do with what network the show is on. Socrates 0
Unfortunate as it may seem, Several bass fishing shows have been on ESPN since I can remember - from the beginning if I'm not mistaken.
Wilderness 0
Yeah, they do have fishing shows on regularly ... I want to say usually Sunday mornings?

I'm sure if you can find a way to make it interesting Travel, ESPN, FSN, or GSN might be interested. Then you can be the next famous poker commentator.

But they also had a 1 hour episode of Annie Duke, Phil Hellmuth, and Daniel Negreanu analyzed the play of the WPT championship for season two. But usually it a small segment during a WPT final table
detterz 0
Yea well, the travel channel, that also airs poker tournaments (get confused which ones) was airing anthropological documentaries on primative warriors and the practice of cannibalism over the weekend. to my delight, i actually enjoy ethnographic films, uhm - but not as much as poker, or bass for that matter. pkarcher 0
those fishing shows are really popular. There are lots of people out there who would rather be fishing than doing dam near anything else including poker. I'm not one of them but there are many. You can't expect poker to be on all the time. I personally think tv is just about saturated with poker the way it is. How many different shows do we really need. If there isn't enought out there for you now, maybe you should do more playing and less watching.
digitalmonkey 929
Yeah, well I can't believe they're showing all this poker and fishing yet not one televised NHL hockey game.........
ddudley 0
Oops, the name of the show is LoudMouth Bass not BigMouth Bass as I had orginally written in my first post (I have gone back and correct it now). It's not a show on fishing, those are fine, I have no problem with showing fishing on ESPN. It's a show exclusively on Professional Fisherman and the Pro Fishing Tour (B.A.S.S. I believe they call it, not sure what it stands for).To clarify: I was just lamenting the fact that a less popular sport has a show like this and Poker does not. I would love to see a weekly poker show that dealt the Professional Poker Players and the Poker Tour.
custom36 5
You guys should know that fishermen are probably having the same conversation about poker shows. Fishing shows were around first anyway. *shrug* Whatever makes you money....
theresa113 0
I live in Central Florida and Bass Fishing is big. Bass fishing is a big deal in the southeast and Texas. NASCAR, fishing, pickup trucks and chewing tabacco. When I first moved to Central Florida 23 years ago I felt like a fish out of water! I didn't own a plaid shirt or a pair of wrangler jeans! Anyway, when my son was a todler (this is over 15 years ago) he use to like to watch those fishing shows. I have no clue why, but if we were flipping through the channels, he would get all excited when he would see a fish on the screen. Go figure!
