I nominate the Leafs! I just knew when they went into a shootout with Ottawa they had no chance:WellwoodLindrosAllisonvs......HeatleyAlfredssonHavlat!!! Talk about a mismatch, wow. Sure, the Leafs are without Sundin and O'Neil, but man, they are in rough shape in shootouts. Allison, for two straight games now, walked up to the goalie and "somehow" expected to score? Mind boggling. So my nomination for Worst shootout team is the Leafs, what's yours?

The leafs are horrible on the shoutout, it's depressing to even talk about. But even worse than the leafs would have to be the potential lineup of the capitals... They have ovechkin and after that... no one. Maybe Halpern..

wow, was that ugly.I love Allison, but he is terrible at SO.its like he and Lindros are at half the speed of the Senators players.of the shootouts i have seen, TO looks dreadful.again though, great hockey game.

Thing is, I'd rather have one stud like Ovechkin and two dead beats over the Leafs guns!

They could use Sykora or Friesen. 100% agreement on the Leafs. Not looking good. Probably time to get into panic mode, but let's take the positives away from this. Ottawa is a tough building to win in, and to go in there and take them to a shootout, without Sundin, after being down 4-2 after 40, I guess I'll take it.I'm just excited hockey's back. This product is good to watch! :-) PS Daniel, I'm not voting!
When I go to a fast food restaurant, and my order comes to $6.28, I like to give the cashier $18.71. They look at me and say 'What's this?' and I say 'I'm all in'. They usually fold.

Unfortunately both of Toronto's shootouts have come against one of the best breakaway goalies ever!

Since the NHL has decided to include shutouts I can't believe its only a best of 3... What's that about? They battle for an hour & 5 minutes on the ice and the game is decided 30 seconds later. Best of 5 is definitly the way to go.

Our lineup couldn't beat Arturs Irbe...

Why not give everyone on each team a shot and clean the ice after every 10 shots then if it's still tied, the coaches get a shot. :D 3 is enough :!:

So true concerning Ovechkin. Hasek is just too sick when it comes to the shoutout. We need Sundin back asap. I dont understand why we never played Kilger more in OT when Stajan and Steen both got 2-3 shifts...

It was a heartbreaker for me in Ottawa. My roomates and I went to the local Hooters to watch the game since our TV was broken wearing our Leaf JErseys and all, and they lose in shoot0ut. :D

We couldn't even score on Tommy Salo from the blue line!

The Leafs have no chance when it comes to a shootout, but Quinn still earns the dumbass award for putting Lindros and Allison out there before Czerkawski. Mariusz is probably the most talented scorer on the Leafs with Sundin out, so why isn't he out there for the SO, or getting more minutes?

The canucks have Clutier, and every goalie in the league has a book on markus and todd. They looked horrid on saturday v. edmonton.

I'd have to give the nod to the Blues for this one. As always I am looking at it from the goalie side, and I'd still rather have Belfour in net than Lalime, and they dont have any better hands than the Leafs.Anaheim isnt far behind. JSG has (well, had, I havent seen him this year) an awful stance for breakaways. Its very difficult for him to make a strong move with a deke and close that wide 5 hole at the same time. Kariya knew that the other night when he faked 5 hole and went topside, because JSG is almost forced to try a jammer to close up the 5 hole, leaving the top of the net wide open. But at least the Ducks have some players that could finish and bail him out.

Daniel, I was at the game last night, and when they announced Wellwood was shooting first, everyone in my section looked at each other and went, "Who??" That was an unbelievably bad lineup. But then again, it's not hard to look bad in a shootout against Hasek. He seemed to really be in Allison's head, in particular...Allison looked like he had no clue what to do both times.

As happy as I was to see Buffalo shove that puck in the net with 20 seconds left in OT, I was kinda looking forward to seeing a shootout just so I could see who Buffalo would put out there. They have so many speedy, flashy players with great moves, it would be a tough call. Thomas Vanek, Maxim Afinogenov, Jochen Hecht, Chris Drury, Daniel Briere, Tim Connolly, etc, etc, etc...Would have been fun to watch, that's for sure. Oh well, a win is a win, I'm sure they'll take a few past OT this season.

I dont think you would have been thrilled with the result, at least from the goalie side of things. Fleury has much better movement than Miller.

I have been to 3 Leaf games there. The fan split is 50-50, and the Leaf fans are more vocal/obnoxious/drunk. In fact, if you want games to the December 17th game at the Corel Center you have to buy a 3 game package. The Sens don't really have much of a home ice advantage over us.
