I'm relatively new to poker, and I was wondering what type of starting hands you would use at a table that was playing tight. I'm talking about a table that where there are 10 people sitting down but only 4 or maybe 5 people (including you) seeing the flop consistantly. Do the suited connectors below 10 lose their value with so few people in the pot? Is it better to start playing Ax orKx? What are good hands to limp in with?I ask this because the last 2 times I went to the casino (I dont play online) this was the type of table I had and I struggled a little bit. I play at the 3/6/12 tables and I've noticed how the different the tables can be depending on the people there. On my first trip to the casino, the table was as loose as it could be with at least 7 people seeing the flop and almost every hand going to the showdown angaist 2 or more opponents. Here the pot odds were always such that the suited connectors made sense. But the last 2 trips that was never the case. Only 4 people seeing the flop and a good number of hands never getting to the showdown. It was usually heads up right after the flop.I wasnt prepared to adjust so I ended up not playing a lot of suited connectors. I stuck with the big cards (any Ace -10 combination) and any pairs, and whenever I did come in I played very aggressive since in this type of game I could push other people out. What ended up happening was that I just didnt play enough hands and the pots I did win were usually small. So I was basically breaking even the entire night. I floated between -$100 and +$100 the whole night. I ended up down $38 in 8 hours of play (like I said I'm new).Any advice you have for this type of tight table would be appreciated. Thanks.
