Im 19 and I went to my first casino about 2 weeks ago, Casino Morongo, right outside of palm Springs, CA. I had $300 that I was willing to lose but not planning on losing. I walk into the poker room and to my surprise I see a bunch of kids my age.. I walk around clueless for about 2 min, finally I ask someone what table I can sit in and he walks me to the 2/4 holdem table. I sit and buy in for 120 and after 2 hrs and losing w/ aces two j/2 o.s. I noticed every one was calling to try and hit the bad beat jackpot. it was basically luck soo i decided to call it quits I went to sleep and got up at 12 the next day.. I go straight down to the poker room and decide hey why not..I'll sit at the 2/5 no limit table w/ my 300 bucks .. I do and to my left is the crasiest person ever.he would raise $75 preflop..he would play eeeevery hand very agressively, so I decided I was gonna play extremely tight and I did. an hour later the guy to my left has all the chips and I have 285, I decide that I'm gonna make him my target so I move his right I play a little loser preflop, and 3 hours later I am 300 bucks up .. every dime of it came from that guy,,meanwhile everyone else is going broke because of him, now heres my question.. I am big blind early position limps ( not a deceptive player) the next two limp and one guy raises to 10 the crazy dude to my right is the button and he calls S.B. folds and I notice the other three guys grabbing there chips I look at my cards and see an 89 S I decide to call based on odds, the others call so there is a $60 pot the flop is 8c,9,c,10c, hmmmm,,I check, the guy to my left bets 30 and 2 people call this is what I want,,,I guess? now the crazy guy moves 250 in, its to me ,, the guy could have aaaanything he could be protecting a str8 with a JQ even a 7 J ,, he could have a 9 10 he could have a flush or just a draw, what do I do this is more than 1/3 of my chips and that guy has 2200 or more he will for sure put me all in on the turn,., plus there is three calling stations behind me too .. so I decide to fold.. right move? Im thinking I maybe shouldnt have checked the flop? but the other part of me says its the right move with a flop like that see how it plays out between them then make a move..anyway I got up a while later sat down later that night and lost my 300 to a guy that played the same way (he also took over the table, do these players profit more? or do they just have a lot of ups and downs?)

you never said what the end of the hand was? But anyhow, with a flop like that i would fold. Some people would disagree. But my theory in no limit poker is you cant lose what you dont put in. Specially ifyour not sure.Do guys like that make money. Well i play no limit, with my buds every week. One of my friends is an agressive sneaky player. He raises 27 , slow plays his sets. Will bet all in on a flush draw. However, it only takes one session to make up 3 session losses. personally i like to walk out every session with a bit of cash then have to deal with those swings. One thing with guys like that, is they don't fold, they keep putting pressure, so you got to be sure you got the best hand. When you do , then trap the freak and take his money. So basically, i trap loose aggressive players, and bully tight scared players.

I would suggest you learn limit before no limit - they are very different. If the 2/4 tables are playing no fold'em - step up to 3/6 or 5/10 Going into a NL game without a bankroll isn't usually gonna turn out well.
