Do you have information on what line Tomas Vanek is going to be playing in? I am drafting in a pool with a bunch of my friends, a few of which know as much/more about hockey than me. I know they will be gunning for players like Vanek as much as I am, so I want to get a feel for when I should grab him.League has 13 teams (probably 16 by draft day). 8F, 4D, 2G, 3 Bench.Only points count for forwards. Wins, ties and shutouts count for goalies.I'm assuming Vanek is a lock to make the team.

Vanek is a lock, but I don't know what line he'll end up on. He's been skating the Briere/Drury line (in Satan's spot) lately, that may hold. Drury lists as a Center, but he's been playing on the Wing since the Sabres are so deep at Center (Connolly, Roy, Briere). I would expect that the top line will be Briere, Drury, Vanek to start the season at least.

If he makes the team for sure and is likely to start on the first line, he seems like he is worth a mid-late round selection.

Thing is, he isn't an available player at the moment. You'll have to wait until he plays his first NHL game and clears Waivers before you can pick him up.

This isn't a Yahoo draft.
