Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) converterPreflop: econ_tim is SB with K:diamond:, J:club:. 2 folds, econ_tim completes, BB checks.Flop: (4 SB) 3:club:, 6:heart:, J:spade: (4 players)econ_tim bets, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, econ_tim calls.Turn: (4 BB) 4:spade: (2 players)econ_tim checks, BB bets, econ_tim calls.River: (6 BB) A:heart: (2 players)econ_tim checks, BB bets, econ_tim calls.Final Pot: 8 BBVillain is pretty aggressive. Can't say whether he is a LAG or TAG since I haven't seen him show down many hands.This isn't a standard WA/WB situation, but I think the line works vs. this guy.

i think you're ahead more often than you're behind. i feel you lost value.you need a weaker hand to use this line in this spot.i'd checkraise the turn and call down if he three-bets.aseem

Since you plan on calling down a 3bet on the turn to your checkraise, you're going to lose less by 3betting the flop when you're behind. You either lose 1.5 big bets less if he caps the flop and you check/call (assuming he would 3bet the turn checkraise with most better hands)You lose 1 bets less if he caps the flop and you check/call (assuming he would NOT 3bet the turn checkraise with better hands)You lose 0.5 less if he calls the 3bet and raises the turn (assuming he would 3bet the turn checkraise with most better hands)You lose 0.5 _more_ if he calls the 3bet and raises the turn (assuming he would NOT 3bet the turn checkraise with better hands)... and You lose 0.5 less if he calls the whole way with something better (which basically implies that he wouldnt 3bet your turn checkraise) If you're ahead, by 3betting the flop instead of check/raising the turn, you win 0.5 less assuming he calls down in both situations. The problem (i think) is that he calls down far less often when you check/raise the turn as opposed to when you 3bet the flop. You also avoid the problem of him checking behind on the turn when he has a draw (very real possibility since he's in the bb).
