Im check/folding the flop, but i suck at omaha and rarely bet with out the nuts.
LOL. You and I are in the same boat. I hate it when I get semi-decent hands because I have no clue how to proceed.edit: My quote box got messed up

I think the play is to take it slow. don't try to get all your money in in this spot because he could have the higher boat. I see that is why you tried to do after the flop, but maybe even consider checking the flop. Or just putting a feeler bet out there.Depends on the opponent too, is he known to play high card combos? I just think taking it slow here is the play because he might have something like QQAw or if he has a ten he will out kick u if he hasn't already hit his boat. But these are the same situations that I have not been faring too well in so I am dying to hear other responses.

Well, here's what we can eliminate: QT. He probably would raise the flop with an underfull. On the turn all he can have to beat you is QQ, which is a legitimate slow play on the flop. Hard to get rid of it since theres only one likely hand that can beat you. I think making an information bet on the turn, is the correct play. If you get raised, then you lay it down.

Would it be viable to NOT bet/raise the turn, hoping a flush/straight card fell on the river, so we can get paid off here? Based on the lack of a raise on the flop, it does not appear that we have to worry about pocket queens or even queen ten, so I think we are good here. :? Asking not telling... 8)

The problem here is that you are out of position and you don't know where you stand with the 3rd nuts.Rather then betting the flop, I might have Check/Raised Max. Then if he comes over the top there is a good indication you are beat. If he doesn't then your full on the turn is probably good.He may only have called your bet on the flop because there was another player to act in between you and if he has the nuts then he may want to try to keep him in.Given that you didn't test him on the flop, calling it down when you fill on the turn is not a bad option. He may take your check as a sign that he has you beaten with AT.OOP & shitty cards. (Even though you are full, they are still shitty cards!)

I have read and seen many times where people have done just that, only to be shown that their opponent DID NOT have the nuts to beat us, but rather just trips or the like. Without reads on our opponent, IS that the best thing to do (check/raise/fold the flop)? Asking not telling... :?

(Another reason for doing this is to try to encourage the button to steal). If he does just have trips, when you pot it back at him he has to put you on a boat and so his reaction tells you a lot more. As it was, the flop bet said "I have at least Trips", the turn check said "I either don't have the nuts or I do and am being very tricky". With this action, if I have AT QT QQ or T6 on the button, I am certainly going to pot this. I would also pot with just trips, given the sign of weakness, and see how you react (benefit of position). I would probably count 9 outs to improve, and you may well fold. If you play it back at me, then I am only going to stick around with one of the first 4 hands.I think you have to try to get information, otherwise you are just going to be playing in the dark - and you are better off not doing that OOP against many decent players. As you indicate, player reads are very important! In the following HH, SB is a very aggressive, high action player, who may just have been trying to throw his weight around, or he could have been fishing for information:***** Hand History for Game *****$200 PL Omaha Hi/Lo Seat 7 is the buttonTotal number of players : 10Seat 1:x ( $186.12 )Seat 4: x( $201.95 )Seat 5: Hero ( $199 )Seat 6: x ( $162.40 )Seat 9: x ( $436.40 )Seat 10: x ( $448.82 )Seat 7:x ( $117.99 )Seat 3:x ( $61.75 )Seat 2: x( $273.52 )Seat 8: Villain ( $228 )Villain posts small blind [$1].BB posts big blind [$2].** Dealing down cards **Dealt to Hero [ Qh As 2c Kh ]3 calls plus the blinds** Dealing Flop ** [ Qs, 2d, 9s ]Check round to Hero.Hero bets [$9.50].Villain calls [$9.50].3 folds.** Dealing Turn ** [ 9h ]Villain bets [$27.55].Hero raises [$55.10].Villain folds.Hero does not show cards.Hero wins $108.65
