For those of you with lots of tournament experiences, I'm curious how you would compare tournaments played in a B+M casino vs. those you play online. What are the pro/cons of each? Thanks,Jason

I don't have that much tournament experience but tournaments at a casino are so much better. You pick up so much more about the other players. Online tournaments just don't give you that tournament feeling.

My honest opinion is that Online tournaments are better, I find that B+M tournaments are usually poorly structured with an uneducated staff running them. If your lucky its 30 minute blinds with 25/50 blinds starting and 1500 in chips. if the were structured like Poker Stars are then I would like them more. Your skipping 2 rounds of blinds and it makes it hard to get a good stake going let alone a table image when most of the game is M.I.S. The two rounds works out to be about 50+ hands or so.It just seems they want to get the tournament over so they can get you on the cash tables. Which I can understand them for wanting to do.

I play in a private Poker club and its a lot better then playing online, we have a lot of fun trashtalking and we set a great blind structure, so we have lots of time to play Poker, however most casinos (over here anyway) have blinds that go up really fast, because they want the tournaments to be short as they have to pay their staff , so the faster they get it over with the more money they make.

So, from the responses so far, it sounds like you like casino tourneys because you can see your opponent and pick up on tells, but like online ones because there are better structures. What if there was a way that casino tournaments could get players to speed up their play so the hands seen actually matched what the structure was? Do you think that would add value? I have an idea of how to speed up a players play in casino tourneys, which is the reason for this post. I would imagine that the structures in casinos, which I have heard to be poor for smaller tournaments, becomes an issue because player have to take a little more time on each play, mostly because they lack certain information like chip counts of player at both their table and in the tournament. I find it better to play online because I have all the information I need to make a decision... I don't have to ask for chip counts, wonder what position I am in the tourney... etc. I have all the numbers I need, so my decisions are quick. Do you feel that if players in a real casino tournament knew the chip counts of everyone in the tourney in REAL TIME, that they would play faster to match structures the casinos setup, so they can get to the cash games that they desire. Thanks for you time,Jason
