ive never posted a hand before but ive been thinking about this hand a little bit lately cause it comes up relatively often. 8/16 full at the Bellagio, pretty tough table, 3-4 to the flop and a raise about 60% of the time. getting ready to leave after about a hour long session cause the table's a little too good. i dont think i saw mp2 raise before this hand, and he has just been limping and folding the flops from what i remember. I dont think he showed down a hand before this. Hero has A
Q
3 folds, mp1 calls, mp2 raises, 1 fold, hero 3-bets, button and blinds fold, mp1 calls two, mp2 callsflop (5bb): 3

mp1 checks, mp2 bets, hero raises, mp1 folds, mp2 callsturn (7bb): 10
mp2 checks, hero checks,river (7bb): 3

i like it good.i might call the river if you want some information or if you think there's a possibility that your ace-queen high is the best hand (if he plays aggressively postflop or tends to bluff somewhat).but, since you're leaving, the information probably doesn't matter.nice hand.aseem

thanks, i guess this is kind of a boring hand. my real problem with this hand is how often should i be betting the turn to try to pick up this pot? im probably never just calling the river here cause i would much rather bet the turn and check it down on the river.tyler

tyler, the turn decision is close, but i think checking is better than betting.this guy has raised preflop--something he rarely does according to you. he has also bet the flop when low cards came. this usually means a medium overpair.you bet the turn usually for fold equity or to protect. you are usually not ahead, so there's not much to protect from, and you usually don't have fold equity in this spot.that said, it also sucks greatly when you get checkraised. now, you might have to fold, which sucks since you could have taken a free card. or, you might call, which sucks because you're paying so much for drawing when you could have taken a free card.all in all, you have a decent number of outs to two strong overcards, and checking is usually best.good luck, aseem

8/16 full at the Bellagio, pretty tough table, 3-4 to the flop and a raise about 60% of the timeOkay, you need to re-evaluate what a tough table is...8/16 Bellagio, 3-4 to the flop and a lot of action = g00t table.
