mk 11
you shouldn't be playing for half the pot. (sw)nh.
Rocketwadster 0
didn't I read somewhere that in O8, you are not supposed to check that flop? :? the reasons you did it are blantantly obvious, but... nh 8)
Chamonyx 0
Tim, I would really hate to check that flop: there are 2 to a low and you have no low, so I think you have to start trying to build the pot to get the 23's interested, otherwise you are only going to win half of a small pot less the large rake when you and a low max it out later. It would be fine to check your hand if there were no other low cards - then you want people to catch up a bit before tempting them, and someone might have a go with a pair of high cards. Alternatively if you are confident that someone else will bet it for you.....however with this many callers it is unlikely that anyone will stab at it unless they have 2355 or something like that.I think you got very lucky on the turn - in fact that was probably the best possible card for you as now those with a 5 or a spade draw might be tempted to stick around with lows. However you still run the risk of netting half of the current pot so I would have lead out with the pot here: if they will call $1 then they'll call $2 :-) The river also turned out to be the perfect card for this table - making the full and 2 nut lows. Note that the call by the other full priced in the second low. If the other full had folded and the second low had been sensible you would have won 4$. The other thing to note is that if you had bet the full pot on the turn, you would now have been able to get all-in with your bet on the river, so that you maximize your hand if there are only 2 lows and they both call. econ_tim 0
I realize I got pretty lucky here, but I wanted to gamble a little on this flop. The pot was so small that I didn't really mind losing half of it, and I thought there was a good chance I could make my half bigger if I waited for the turn.I might write more later when I have some time. I doubt you would have made more than that by betting on the flop. Well played. 8)
