Hey guys,I have the option of picking up one of these 4 guys in my pool. Which do you think would be the best?Doug Weight D BrieirePavol DemitraJason ArnottI would prefer to also have someone who doesn't affect my +- in a negative way. But if they put up big stats in other categories across the board, that would be ok too.

Arnott is solid +/- and around as many points as the others. Also I dont think there have been many changes in Dallas they might throw if his prior stats.Brieire could put up similar numbers to arnott, but he's been inconsistent..if he had injuries in the down years maybe he gets a pass, but then that might mean hes injury prone and due for another one.

i think its a toss up with Weight and Briere. The negative on both is of course being injury prone. but weight will have more assistance on his lines than briere, but i believe briere will naturally step up and score more goals.

The OP focused on +/-, and Arnott hasnt had a - year in the last 6 or7 other than his injured season when he played in a handful of games. Weight is up and down on +/-.Perhaps more importan than past performance is what might happen in the "new NHL". If clutching and grabbing are really gone, then Arnotts size is going to be very valuable defensively and keep +/- down. Weight has more speed, but I dont think its homerun speed that will allow him to score many more goals, and his size will hurt defensively.(This is all very hard for me to say, because Arnott was a hated Devil.)

Demitra, and I have no stats to back that up. He should be playing on a line with Frolov and Roenick though.

Demitra would be the best of the bunch. He is one hell of a player and will put up a lot of points. His only downside is that he always tanks in the playoffs, which is something you won't have to worry about...I'd also go with Demitra.

There you go, what he said. Plus, Frolov will have a career year.

I would also recommend Demitra, he'll definitely be skating the first line and counted on to provide the bulk of their offense in every situation (even strength, PP, SH, etc). Should be the best fantasy player on your list this year.

Without a doubt - Demitra! Still relatively young, lots of upside, playing on the top line with Roenick and Frolov in a new market where he's going to be eager to impress.
