Hi, I've been playing poker for a year, mainly small buy-in tournaments with my friends. I consider to start playing online and there's that promotion with pacific poker where I can get two poker books for free if i sign-up.http://globalpokerbooks.com/books.htmI'd like to have your advice on what books among this list I should choose. I will play small limit online and keep playing small buy-in tourneys with my friends. I read on this forum that many of you recommend Harrington's book. As a second choice, I think of SS2 or Slansky's small stakes hold'em. Do you have any advice for me ?THanks Here's the list :Super System, Doyle Brunson Super System 2, Doyle Brunson (pre-order) Big Deal: One Year as a Professional Poker Player, Anthony Holden Play Play Poker Like the Pros, Phil Hellmuth Jr Caro's Book of Tells, Mike Caro Poker: The Real Deal, Phil Gordon Championship No-Limit and Pot-Limit Hold'em, Cloutier & McEvoy Middle Limit Hold'em Poker, Bob Ciaffone and Jim Brier High-Low Split Poker for Advanced Players, Ray Zee Seven Card Stud for Advanced Players, Sklansky, Malmuth, Zee Hold'em Poker, David Sklansky Small Stakes Hold 'em, Ed Miller Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players, Sklansky and Malmuth Killer Poker Online: Crushing the Internet Game, John Vorhaus Hold'em Excellence (2nd Edition), Lou Krieger The Psychology of Poker, Alan N. Yes, the offer is still available. My buddy signed up a month ago, go his books 2 weeks ago. I signed up right after he got his books (wanted to make sure it was legit), and I got my 2 books (Super System 1 and Theory) on Friday.Plus, i made $30 playing... so it was a great deal if you ask me. :D

If you're going to choose two books purchase The Theory of poker by Sklansky and Super System II. But please do not let these be the only books you read. Read good books and go back and peruse them again. Remember buying poker books is an investment people who go to the tables without educating themselves first will be paying a very steep price for their lessons in the school of hard knocks from which they may never graduate.

I would definitley recommend the Harrinton book. It is by far my favorite poker book. I am already on my second time through it. I have been concentrating on tournaments lately, so it has really helped. Which by the way, I am thinking of letting go of my ring game books, so if any of you are thinking of purchasing those, let me know first and maybe we can work out a better deal than Amazon. Got to take care of the FCP'ers. I have most of the Lederer dvds too, so maybe somebody can kill a few birds with one stone, and I will do a package deal. Not trying to be a spammer or anything, but figured some people might be able to save some money. Regardless, back to the point of this post, the Harrington book is a must if you are a tourney player.PC
