I was too steamed to save the hand histories, but these hands knocked me out of $5 SNG's at Pokerroom in consecutive nights. The first knocked me out in fifth place, the second one knocked me out in fourth. A) I was on the big blind ($400) with only about $1600 left remaining after posting my blind, the hand was folded to the small blind who raised me all in. I was holding a pair of 7's, so I called. He flipped over A-K. The flop came A-7-X. Turn came ARiver came K. So although I was only a 55-45 fav. preflop, after that flop, I was a 98-2 favorite after the flop, and a 85-15 fav. at the turn. B) Next night (last night) I'm under the gun with around 4k in chips, i'm second stack. The blinds are 400-800. I get pocket k's. I raise all in, button (top stack) calls, blind fold. He turns over A-K, so I'm almost 2-1. Flop comes K-6-3. I am now a 99.7- 0.3 favoriteTurn comes A I'm still a 95-5 fav. River....you guessed it...another Ace!!.His aces over kings beat my kings over acesAnyway, as you can imagine I'm a little shook up over this, but I'll get over it. At least it only cost me a collective $11 to be able to tell you these stories.

Yeah, losing to runner runner stuff like that is horrid. Although yours were allin preflop, so it isn't quite what I'm used to in terms of thinking of a runner runner where they have to call on both streets. Though your guys would have in any limit game anyway, they wouldn't have known you had a set. I've had plenty of hands like that, but never in as quick succession as you had them, that utterly sucks.I can remembe 2 off the top of my head if we're swapping.Someone raises in early I 3bet with TT. Flop was AT6. I'm in heaven, pretty sure she has AK or AQ. She gives me huge action never slowing down. Turn is a 6. I'm lke great -- kind of. That 6 gives her 2 outs as opposed to nearly zero if the turn was a true blank. And of course yes, the river is an A. And she did have AK.Another similar one. I raise with QQ first in in middle. Get 3bet right after me, I cap. Flop is KQ9. The person wasn't a total lag so I wasn't afraid of JT. KQs was possible but I figured most likely AK (or some worse PP which I wouldn't have cared about). Sure KK is a possibility but you can't be afraid of shadows. So I'm raising up a storm, he plays with me on the flop but slows down by the turn. Turn is another K. He still slowed down, I guess my action convinced him I had a set, though it's hard to have THAT read, hah. So anyway, river is a fine 9 and my Qs full loses to his Ks full. He also had AK.You just have to get through the beats and downswings and keep playing.I had two horrid 2 outer river beats yesterday 2-3 mins apart. QQ vs TT and then QQ vs JJ. The first QQ hand was odd because of the flop. UTG open raised, I 3bet he flat called. Flop was AKx. He checks, I bet ( prepared to fold if he raises, since it was the worst possible flop for QQ) he flat calls. Turn was a rag, I decide at this point to take a cheap showdown since very few cards beat me if I'm not already ahead HU. So he checks turn I take a free card. Turn is a T, he bets, I call, and he takes down the pot with TT. How he can call a flop bet after I 3bet him and there is an AKx flop I'll never know, but he did. I could have bet the turn but I think my play was fine in this case. If I wasn't already beat very few cards could make me beat HU, he just caught his two outer.Then 2 mins later on another table I get QQ again, I raise, get 3bet, I cap. Flop is Kragrag , no flush/straight draw possible. This time I don't have position. A King high flop is not perfect but far better than the last flop. So I bet, he calls. Turn is a rag. I bet, he calls. River is a J, I check (since he called twice he could have the K, plus he might bluff with something stupid this way, so I don't get raised and he probably will bluff if he doesn't have it), he bets, I call. And as you know, he had JJ.Crap like this isn't fun, but it's part of poker.
