omaha high, flopped nut flush...

Recommended Posts

I flop the nut flush and have a pair on board...The pot has 1000 in it, I bet out 800, 80% of pot.Board reads 9 :D T :) 4 :) I have in my hand : A :) 7 :club: 8 :D 9 :D It is now heads up. I am playing against a guy who thinks he is gods gift to poker, He is getting 18 : 8 or approximately 9 : 4 for the call. I hoped that he had 2 pair, a lower flush or a set.He then gave me a pop quiz about his hand, telling me that hand reading is the most important skill in the game. He called the flop bet of 800 then folded when I bet 80% pot on the turn. I told him that he obviously had a set... He congratulated me on working out his hand. He then told me that I should have bet pot because if I let him call then I could lose the hand.Don't I want him to call in this spot drawing to T, 99, 444. He has to hit one of 6 outs and for 9:4 it's obviously not worth it?I thought that I would humour him and just agree with whatever he said, at the end of the day he ain't paying me for lessons so why should I teach him?Is my thinking here right?

you're good. he called getting only 2.25 to 1 when he needed 3.5 to 1.
That's assuming you know he has the flush.Maybe he only has the ace of hearts and is drawing to the nut flush :club:
True that. You gotta love those trendy holdem players attempting to make the transition to omaha because they finally showed an omaha tourney on espn. It's awesome!
