The reason I bet the river is because I've noted the strange things people call pot-sized river bets with at this site and level. I made a note to myself to relentlessly value bet the river. Plus, I think villain would have shown strength earlier if he had a set or a higher straight, so what I'm really worried about is him having two pair gone good.Would you raise a hand like this PF for position?

A278 would almost certainly have come back at you on the turn. The only hands you really need to worry about are A2xx that have filled up - and these would probably have played back on the flop. I think you are pretty safe here.
