$200 PL Omaha Hi/LoTotal number of players : 8CO: Hero ( $266.88 )BB: ( $179.25 )MP2:( $107.27 )Dealt to Hero [ Ac 4s 8h Ad ]MP2 calls [$2].Hero (CO) raises [$9].B calls [$7].MP2 calls [$7].** Dealing Flop ** [ Kd, As, Jd ]BB checks.MP2 checks.Hero bets [$26.60].BB calls [$26.60].MP2 folds.** Dealing Turn ** [ Tc ]BB checks.Hero checks.** Dealing River ** [ 8s ]BB bets [$78.20].Hero folds.Look ok? I would have folded the river anyway, but holding the Ad made me more comfortable that he wasn't bluffing a busted flush draw.I figured PF was raise or fold, and I decided to raise here (although maybe I should have just folded) - I raise a variety of hands here, not only (and not always) aces.

Looks fine: Guaranteed best position with few if any opponents, i think this an easy pre-flop raise. On the flop you have to see who wants to stick around, and it gets you the free card if you want it on the turn - which you wisely take. Opponent kicks himself for not betting the turn and bets his nuts on the end. You are 90% sure you are beaten and fold. Next hand.

Neither ace is suited. The 4 is a rather sucky next-lowest wheel card. The eight does absolutely nothing for us. If that 8 is a 2 or a 3, I'd feel much better about the PF raise. Heck, it might be okay if it's a 5 or a 6...but an 8? Blech.

Your opponents don't know that your aces aren't suited, so given your position it doesn't matter: you can still bet it like you got it if the suits of your aces come. At least you have a wheel card and another low card. Would I prefer AA23 ds? Sure. Can I play this hand with positive expectation? Sure.

I guess I don't have enough experience to run the dry ace bluff. I think I might've tried it before...but at the limits I'm playing, I find that the flush draws often chase regardless of their kicker.
