Well, tonight my friend and I had a rough time with JJ in the whole. We were playing at a pretty low No limit table on Pokerstars. We decided to scope out the table with the highest average pot (usually meaning a loose game), and we wanted to play tighter than tight, and super aggresive. We ended up having a good time on the table and made some decent money with some good hands, except for 3 hands where we held JJ in the whole. Lets just say we lost 3 huge pots with JJ to AA.Ill give one example of how we made a bad read, and probably did a bad call. We were in the big blind with JJ and it folded all the way to the dealer who raised about 3 times the blinds. It seemed like a steal since we watched the player raise our blinds very often to steal them earlier on. We decide to re-raise about 2 1/2 times the original raise. The original raiser then proceeds to re-raise us the minimum amount, and we flat call (this is where we went wrong).Now the flop comes out 9-10-2 rainbow. Great flop for our jacks we assume, we come out betting, and he calls. Turn card shows a Q, we are now open ended, and are thinking our hand still looks to be the favourite. We decide to check this round, and our opponent checks as well. Finally the last card comes up a rag, a measily 5. We push the pot, and he flat calls, he shows the AA, we muck the JJ.This happened to us maybe 3 times within 2 hours on the same table, and we lost big time all 3 times, and to make matters worse, the oponent had AA in the whole each time! Everytime we had the JJ, a similar flop came out, and it just kept going, us thinking we have the hand and want to take it on the flop, and not let the person (who were thinking is holding AK, or a lower pocket pair) hit their Ace, King, or a set, on the turn or river.My question is, how badly did we play those hands? We know there are many ways to play JJ badly, but with flops like we saw, it was hard to put anyone on having AA, let alone an overpair.We kept watching the table as we played, and saw JJ lose 6 times, to any cards, pocket 3s, 8-7 suited, etc.Thanks!

For the OP, possibly try the Smash system for NLNo set, No bet.Also, you had your cards in the holenot in the whole.(One could use semantics I guess to argue eitherway is technically correct, but in this case, I get the feeling that would go nowhere fast)

Do you realize how sick it is to hit J's V A's 3 times in 2 hours?Not to mention the post flop action that had to occur all three times in order for jacks to lose huge pots. Multitabling makes it less sick.It looks like you had him convinced he was behind, and he couldnt throw away aces on the end. I think betting the turn might have taken him off of em. If he calls or raises the turn you seriously have to reconsider your holdings. Then knowing your behind you can play accordingly on the river.
