Abbaddabba 0
Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is CO with [As], [7s]. 1 fold, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls, Hero calls.Flop: (10.50 SB) [4d], [5s], [3c] (6 players)BB bets, Button folds, BB calls.Turn: (7.25 BB) [3d] (3 players)BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.River: (9.25 BB) [2s] (3 players)BB bets, Hero calls.Final Pot: 11.25 BBIs this the place to be doing it?I figure it takes the PFR off a stronger ace - a card that both may have me outkicked and would have one side of my straight draw going for a chop. WonderfulSplash 0
I'd check the turn, otherwise it looks good.

Seems someone with for ex: A-Q would def call Your raise. However it seemed to work with the button, so good hand.
Abbaddabba 0
He doesnt know that he has 10 outs (and technically he doesnt, since 4 are half outs, and the others may not be outs at all given what the initial bettor holds)The reason im raising is to represent a hand stronger than what i actually have.If he knew what everyone in the hand had, he'd be 3betting (other guy was open ended with a 2/k). That's not the point.
screech 0
I really like this flop. This is ideal spot to push button off his big ace hand and buy a free card on the turn.Take the free turn card.River is fine given the action.

That's not the point.Of course he doesn't know he has 10 outs, he could *think* he has 10 outs.I'm not dissing on Your move. It works against certain opponents, ones that are hesitant-weak to call 2 cold with somethling like A-Q and would fold (this could be the case of the button in this situation), but against others who *think* "ok I could hit the 2, Q or A, I'm calling" it wouldn't work. akishore 0
the turn decision is close, and i'm not going to say which is better because i honestly don't know.i think turn decisions in position heads-up are one of the trickiest and most difficult things in limit poker to grasp. almost every difficult decision i can think of happens on the turn when i raised the flop and it's checked to me.it really is pretty read-dependent. a semi-bluff here might be good, it might not be.aseem
screech 0
i think turn decisions in position heads-up are one of the trickiest and most difficult things in limit poker to grasp.I agree.I sometimes bet, and sometimes I don't, and sometimes I have no idea what to do.It really depends on your read of BB. Would he lead here with a draw? How often does he go to showdown? How aggressive is he (do we have to fear a turn check/raise)?A lot of small stakes players won't lead into the field with a draw, and they'll usually call all the way down with any pair. Against your typical opponent, I think a check here is better, since we have little fold equity. We should rarely semi-bluff against passive opponents. Another thing to consider is that this play usually costs us 1BB when we don't hit our draw, and wins us the same amount when we do. This is because most opponents will bet into us when we check the turn, and if we hit our hand, we can then raise.
Abbaddabba 0
Against weak players, it's probably best to check, i agree.Against stronger opponents, you may very well have been bet into with an OESD that your ace high has beat. By checking, you might induce a bluff too (which probably isn't the best thing if you hold a weak ace high, because you'll end up folding more times than not).
