So I am making the big move from shorthanded NL to limit play, don't know whether to play short or longhanded? comments on each welcome.Decided to switch after a huge losing session from badbeats that cost me a lot of $$$. figured limit will help me become a better poker player anyhowSo, J10s in early position, I got this hand like 3-4x within 2 hours, need to know how you are supposed to play this? open limp/fold/raise???and how the play varies under the circumstances that the table plays tight? loose? aggressive? passive?also how about lower suited connectors, T9s I think is playable, 89s and below, I probably would throw away. Obviously my limit game needs a lot of work and I will be rereading SSHE to freshen up, but curious how the FCP'ers play these hands.Aloha

J10s I may limp in with early if the table is fairly passive and not a lot of raising pre-flop (it's really iffy though). I would a decent amount of callers here. T9s and below I'd muck

The mechanics of short handed Limit and NL are quite similar. If you've established a good feel for what raising hands are short-handed, what hands you should be showing down with etc etc, then you may want to stick with what you've been doing (short-handed games that is).

i would need 5+ players on avg going to the flop to limp in early position with J 10 s. and the table I think has to be passive for this to be profitable. otherwise I'm mucking...and 10-9 s and down...not even thinking about open limping.

So I am assuming everyone here is playing 9-10 handed full ring games then? If thats the case then I aggree with folding J10s and under to aggressive tables, but playing them in loose passive games, I would even throw in 109s here but nothing less. I think in a shorthanded game though, 5-6 players total, I think that J10s is more of a premium hand, maybe even worth a raise in EP :shock: Ok before you start flaming me for this, here me out! by raising in EP you accomplish a few things here-chance that someone else has a premium hand is small-buy yourself the button-represent a strong hand-If raised, you have one of the best drawing handsbut maybe thats just me...This hand is more so how you play it postflop that makes you money.

I like J10. Play it for up to one raise. When it hits it hits big, and when it misses, you can dump it.I also like Q10 for the same reason. I know I'm a little loose, but I like post flop action and I'm willing to invest to get into the action.Having said that I am quick to dump Ace 9 or lower unless suited, and only play suited connectors less than J10 and above 78 for a limp. Lower than 78 suited only in the blinds unraised.I don't play Karbala either
